Hacking SDHC issues after updating to Shop Channel v18?

I'm creating this thread because I've only seen this mentioned in zektor's "Firmware Updater 4.2" thread and I doubt many people are hanging around there anymore.

There have been a few reports of SDHC support being lost after updating to Shop Channel v18 via WiiSCU or other means. If anyone could confirm this, please post your experience here so everyone can get a better understanding as to what's happening. If you have updated and are not experiencing any issues, also post here. Thanks.

thats odd, i thought the system menu IOS controls SDHC support?

how would the shop channel interfere with that?

I did not update with WiiSCU, instead i just downloaded the wad with NUSD and installed with WAD manager 1.5.

My 8 GB Kingston worked fine afterwords so do my normal 2 GB ones.

No idea what could be causing this issue
