Just wondering which has overall better compatibility. I got dios mios up and running pretty well loading stuff from a 4gb flash drive...I'm soon going to buy either a high capacity sd card or hard drive....just wondering which route I should take.

-Thanks in advance,

I'd go with SD route. For me 8 out of 10 times DIOS MIOS reset itself when loading from USB. No problem with SD loading.

might I ask what your configuration looks like?

(what rev of what loader, what version of DML, etc.)

SD is pricier per GB and has slower read/write speeds, but more convenient than HDD. I have a 500 GB USB HDD and never once had an issue, other than playing a game that used 240p.

Actually SD card will be faster than USB since game loading depends on random read speed, speed it takes to read another cluster.

Most advertised number are sequential read speed, speed it takes to read the cluster directly next to it. USB hard drive has moving parts, which means it takes time to align to another cluster. Game loading jumps from cluster to cluster, often not next to each other.

Well, I didn't know that....I'll, uh, keep my opinions to myself next time:shy:
