It's very possible you have a fake card. You can try a test using tools like H2testw on Windows. It should report back your card's true capacity.

didn't think of it that way. i've left it checking for some hours now... it's just a matter of time to really know whether it was made by a shady company or if it's just defective.

have you ever setup an emunand on it? Because formatting an sd card normally on windows would leave the emunand intact and would still take up space

n0pe, i have never used it for hacking... i mean, just look at that Devicerinos thing on my signature.
