Gaming Scribblenauts Hype and News Thread

So much hype.... it's jinxing this game. Now it won't be as good as we hoped.

But if it is, then I'll buy it, and this is really saying something as I haven't bought a real game other than the Metroid demo that came with my DS dark.

I think it'll live up to at least me and some other tempers expectations.

Hope this game will be hacker friendly so that new contents can be added later

Speaking of which, I'm surprised 5th Cell isn't doing downloadable content for the game. It would be a perfect way for them to keep momentum of sales up for the game weeks after its release by letting folks download packs that include new words/things to be added to the game's world.

Downloadable words should be a no-no. They emphasized that they already included everything in this game.
I think having downloadable levels would be nice.

Can I be honest and tell the truth here: not buying it.

Will promote it. Will help hype it. Will even play it for years to come. But won't buy it. I have a feeling Time Warner will be able to make due without my 30 bucks.

I'm literally only buying it for the stupid rooster hat. I think it will be fun to wear to the bar

As far as the game being overhyped, no. I mean, it's already been confirmed that the game has an object database that includes tens of thousands of words. Look at that again. Not a thousand, not ten thousand, but TENS of thousands! The gameplay probably won't be anything to write home about, but that's not the point of this game at all. You will literally have tens out thousands of words to work with to help you solve puzzles and to literally test the limits of your imagination. The fact that a game can even do that is astounding.

Yeah, I don't think it's overhyped at all. In fact, look at this board. There's equal board space given to the latest Mega Man RPG and other games.

I think if anything, people who know in their hearts of hearts they aren't buying it (dirty pirates) should go out of their way to promote it in places they know people will. Kind of like carbon replacement. I'm going to drive my car to work, but if I plant a tree it'll be alright.

" Share levels you create with the level editor via Nintendo DS Wi-Fi Connection." Doesn't this count as downloadable content?

yes it does count. but i think he means new words and ssuch? not other levels from users.

Yeah. It will be cool, though, to tinker with player-made levels, even though most of them are likely to be penis-shaped. But of course, new words means new designs for each entry, and I think it would give the game unbelievable legs.
