Hardware screen problem with psp 3004 looks psychedelic

Help! offered to mod 2 psp for my colleague, its her daughters.

one of them is fine, one of them, has horizontal different coloured lines across the screen. you can still use it but it looks weird. I said to her about it and she looked at me like she thinks I've broken it, but it was like that when i turned it on.


any way of fixing it.

Doesn't the psp 3000 have scanlines?it might just be that.

no its not normal scan lines, its hard to even see the screen because of them.

Um...that looks fudged up....ask her if her daughter did something to it lately.like drop or something.

No simple fix other than an replacement LCD.

it could be the wire between the screen and the main board that isn't fitted right or the contacts on the wire that have a bit of oxidation.

if it's the screen wire that isn't fitted right, just open your psp, disconnect the wire (it's more like some kind of plastic sheets with wire printed on it) and reconnect it, making sure that the wire is properly aligned in the socket.
if it's oxidation, just clean up the contacts on the wire with an eraser.
