    HELLO, Scott Pilgrim fans!

If any of you are out there reading this, I'm sure you know about the movie coming out.
I don't know if you also know about a game in the works?!
Well, actually the news HAS been out since last month...but Scott Pilgrim may be obscure enough that this may have gone unnoticed.

"I've made it obvious that I love the Scott Pilgrim comics and I can't wait to watch the movie. When I heard about the videogame, though, my gut told me that it was going to be disappointing. I mean, it's a movie tie-in from a big name publisher, and they're pretty much always terrible.

Well, there was no need to worry. Apparently Bryan Lee O'Malley made sure that Ubisoft treated his baby with respect. Today at PAX East, I found out that Anamanaguchi is writing the soundtrack. During their concert tonight, they played one of the tracks they wrote for the game, and the on-stage visuals included animation and artwork from pixel master Paul Robertson, creator of the Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 animation and proud Mecha Fetus member.

Wow. Could the combination be any better? Four years: that's how long it took from the release of Pirate Baby's for a videogame company to be smart enough to hire Paul Robertson to animate a beat'em up adventure with his trademark bouncy pixels. Everyone that watched Pirate Baby's wished that it was made into a real game. Combine it with incredible chip music and the Scott Pilgrim storyline, and you already have one of the most exciting videogame releases for 2010.

    Touché, Ubisoft.

I liked the comic series (once the action started) and the film looks excellent which should be a given seeing Edgar Wright is directing it.

When I heard Ubisoft was doing the game I was very wary and to be honest I need to see more of it before I even start to look forward to it.

That's funny, that's how I felt about it too.
I resisted reading Scott Pilgrim for a REALLY long time,
I thought the art on the first volume was butt ugly.
But then it really kicked once that fight scene happened and I was sold. Heh.

Well, i'm looking forward to the movie, if nothing more than it's Edgar Wright, the man who can do no wrong. (well, we'll see, after this one [IMG])

I know very little about the comic (sigh), but i know enough that it that it's not a total shocker of a flick.
I wait for trades to catch up on stuffs. Monies has always been too few for me to be able to keep up with anything...

Anamanaguchi is fucking balls rad. I watched their PAX East performance on Youtube for the song for the game, and it's wonderful. PS They make for wonderful driving music. Just sayin'.

WTF is this Scott Pilgrim shit?

The art is absolutely atrocious. It looks like someone took a dump all over Inkscape and called it a comic.

Never read it, don't plan to. Art looks great though. And I really want to play the game.

Seems people are interested! (There's hope...!)
But still unfamiliar with Scott Pilgrim?
It's just a silly indie comic based in Toronto and involves bands
    and gratuitous video game references.

Some highlighted right here : The Best Video Game Moments In Scott Pilgrim

Now, maybe the art style ain't yer cup of tea, it wasn't for me in the beginning, I seriously used to hate it. But's it gets a lot better as it progresses. Even now, I don't even really like the main character Scott Pilgrim himself...but I still love the series as a whole.
And it's only six volumes long all together. (The sixth and final volume comes out in July.) That's not a lot, is it?

Haha...Sorry, I know people are already like "Don't try to convince me, I just don't plan on reading this ever."
I understand. I'm just trying to spread the looove, y'all. [IMG]

I read the first three volumes and, wow. I really dig the art style, and the story sounds funny enough to keep me interested for three more. I'm definitely looking forward to the movie and the game. Thanks for convincing me, ufotrash!
