It seems like putting the microSD reader (which is USB 2.0) in an USB 1.1 port kills it. At least, it did happen once to me

This should be written in RED on a BLACK BACKGROUND with a size OVER NINE THOUSANDS!!!

What? No. USB 2.0 microsd readers when put into a USB 1.1 slot will only function at the 1.1 speed but should still work fine.

If you are having difficulties it is because of errors with your computer (missing drivers etc.)
