I was able to load my first NDS ROM onto my M3 Lite today and was horrified to find out that after playing Castlevania: DoS for an hour, then switching to Tetris, that my DoS file was gone. I also tried to load up minnish cap, but it tells me off the bat that saves 1, 2 and 3 are corrupt and fails when I try to make new ones.

Now, I've done some experimentation with DoS. I played it for a bit, saved, then turned the DS off, came back to it an hour later and my save WAS indeed there, and this worked a few times, but every time I try to load anything else, be it rom or homebrew, it erases my files.

I've reformatted my card to FAT, and am currently getting the new FW. Anything else I need to do here? I just got the thing, so I doubt that its the battery.

Also, I get This message every time I boot up...

Zelda: Minish Cap

WARNING! gba Game save in cart, but cannot find "Gamesave" directory, press a to continue

Castlevania DOS:

WARNING: NDS GAME SAVE in card but CANNOT find AUTOSAVE backup file. Backup fail! Press A to continue\.

The GBA one is kinda obvious, but the NDS one is pissing me off.

Patch your games with the Game Manager, for every game it writes to the SD card it creates a save file under NDSSAVE under the root directory and GAMESAVE for gba games under root also. And automatically creates a save file (.dat) inside these directories for the corresponding game. Obviously what's going on for you is it cannot find these save files to write to and keeps the saved game in the battery sram....then when you load another game it deletes the information in the sram for the new game's save information without writing to the sd card first.

well, holy crap. The game manager confused the hell outta me, but I got the DS roms working, but Zelda, even though it has a DAT file in the gamesave folder that game manager made, it still doesnt work. That's okay though, DS and homebrew were my main reasons for getting my M3.

Thanks Tama. You save the day once again.
