So there's this game called Magician's Quest that released in 2009. It's kinda like Animal Crossing except not really. But like a common thing in Animal Crossing hacking is editing in villagers of your choice which is something I'm trying to do. The thing is this game is nowhere near popular enough to have a dedicated save editor or even action replay cheats that do such a thing. However, there is this site called Layton's Land that allows you to view your save file and even tells you binary and such but it doesn't allow for editing. So with the info I gathered from that I decided to hex edit the save file myself. I'm just gonna say right off is I'm unbelievably stupid when it comes to thing kinda thing, so I didn't do anything too major, I just swapped character bytes with the ones I thought were correct. I loaded the save into my DSi and it says the file was corrupted and formated it. I looked it up and it sayed it had to to something with checksums or something like that but honestly that's where I gave up. So here's both the edited and unedited save files if anyone wants to take a look.
Thanks a ton!

"experiment" is the checksum. checksum is at 0x20-0x21

on the left is expected checksum, on the right is actual checksum in file

just open that in a hex editor and replace those two bytes with the ones on the left
