strata8 said:c2ironfist said:Totally for the hack.
Not sure why people think this is a bad thing.. M3 profits off of game developers by allowing people to pirate games.
Now that rudolph made the hack to allows other cards to use Sakura firmware not right? I don't see the logic here.
You don't see the point?
What would be the point of paying the extra money for a Cyclo, when you can just get a DSTT and run the Cyclo firmware anyway? Did I also mention that you would be able to triple boot between the AceKard RPG loader as well?

Toni Plutonij said:Because, companies that make game will always make money, but "homebrew" scene is drastically smaller, and things like that could destroy it.....If you want to screw CycloDS, M3 Sakura or AceKard, there is possibility that they'll drop further development and support, and in the end, leave you screwed..
They make effort to develop good firmwares, and stuff, so their carts would sell, and they could live from it..
It is ironic, and maybe illogical...But it's how it is..

I'm actually not disagreeing with you at all, but you really didn't catch my point, I probably expressed myself wrong, as I'm not native english-speaker..I am thinking more about myself, because all I want is for some flashcart developer (of flashcards I own) that he doesn't drop support for it....All I'm talking about here is that M3 Team didn't even properly release Sakura, and it's already hacked for other flashcarts, and that could result in dropping support for Sakura..c2ironfist said:Are you serious? Your joking right? Are you talking about the homebrew scene or the pirate/black market scene? If your referring to the homebrew scene then yes these guys who make homebrew games aps are generally a small team of one or more that do it as a hobby pretty much.
Nothing to add here, I agree completely..
If you disagree with me thats fine but as a consumer try thinking more about yourself than thinking about whether M3 is making a few more millions of dollars on their flashcards.c2ironfist said:Now if you are talking about the black market scene, then I would disagree with you there. These guys make millions off pirated goods, and if they chose to drop development of newer products thats fine by me because there are strong competitors in every area of business whether it's legit or not.
Well, I partially agree on this too..I wouldn't just say that every flashcart company make millions, and I would really disagree that makers and developers of flashcarts are millioners..Although DS pirate scene is getting bigger and bigger, I really believe that it's still fairly small, and not so many people know about flashcarts and it's possibilities..
But all that is not the point I was making.....I'm talking all the time about M3 Real Sakura....I said, that I don't want it to be hacked for other flashcarts, as it could result in M3 Team dropping support and further development..
Again, completely true, but this isn't actually point I was trying to make.....and I really doubt that developers of M3 Team get more money than developers in Eidos....Pirating games is a long time problem for game developers, and it's not actually the topic I want to talk about..c2ironfist said:These guys have products that are globally available. The firmware supports how many languages? I have no clue more than the amount of fingers I can count on one hand thats for sure.
I would say it's the other way around. Developers who make games don't always make money sometimes games flop and revenue doesn't amount to expensive development and marketing cost. IE Sega
However though, you have these companies such as M3, Cyclo, Ace Kard, SuperCard etc... come out with products that allow you to pirate these goods. Now I don't know about you but I'm gonna assume that cost to crack a code is far less than cost to develop and market a game.

Sorry for long post, I like to debate, just my english isn't that good for expressing in some situations..
c2ironfist said:I see your point. It's understandable that you'd want to justify owning a specific card. When I bought a few Cyclo Cards back then when they released the new V3 ( or V4 I forget but the latest design) The Edge was released soon after for nearly half the price. I wasn't too happy about that because if I had known I would have gotten the Edge instead; assuming it was on par with the Cyclo Evo.

Anyways in my opinion and this is only opinion anyways, people can disagree with me here. I highly doubt at the moment Sakura by M3 even hacked will be dropped. Why? Because Sakura is their new marketing strategy in the flashcard business. Slot-1 Flashcards are so flooded now, with soo many different brands but yet the hardware is all the same. They need something to distinguish them from the rest and their Firmware is what will mark their success. Dropping Sakura means dropping their marketing strategy and leaving them back to square one, which most likely will ruin their reputation and turning customers off.
What I think will happen is that they're going to try and encrypt the firmware as best as they could, preventing people hacking it. Now I don't know anything about programming so again this is only opinion.
It's the same with game developers, they know there are pirates out there but yet they still develop and make games in an effort to make a profit. Same with M3 they will constantly update their firmware, improving it in an effort to sell their brand of flashcards.
So I wouldn't worry too much
oh btw your english is good enough lol

People call the Edge a CycloDS clone when it plainly isn't, it just rips off the look of the CycloDS and its menus and can use the same skins, I'd say its no better or worse than the TTDS.
It was a stroke of pure genious by The Edge team, fooling people in to thinking that they had cloned the best flash cart on the market.
Toni Plutonij said:Well, you got my point this time!
That's exactly what I was trying to say..
You see text in bold....it's the only thing I would partially disagree..
You're right when you say that Sakura won't be dropped at the moment, but it could be if hacking continues..You see, there will be no point in Sakura once it's hacked completely..It would have no market value for M3 Team, as it would be no more a selling point for M3 Real, but they would spent their time improving it, so it's a logical they improve the encryption and protection..
@gangsterboi, it's actually matter of personal taste, I had CycloDS long before Sakura was even announced, and even then I liked M3 Real more then Cyclo..
But there's no doubt that CycloDS is one of THE best carts out there, and it will just become more and more improved and better..
This applies to me relative to my entire city, but I still keep it secretive when I have the thing outdoors. I attended a midnight release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in March and learned I wasn't the only one who owns a flashcart in my local area. When I inquired about their odd-looking carts inserted into their DSes they denied it all over saying they didn't in fact own R4s (or they said they owned "not R4s") until I told them I wasn't with the police and showed them my M3 Real. I still don't know how to explain that. If they're going to deny it badly, the least they could do is not let me notice it in the first place.gangsterboi said:Well take it this way, in my school I am the only one who even knows what homebrew, flash carts, or even movies on the ds is about. Compared to the amount of people who use nintendo branded products the ones that use flash carts is almost zilch.
Maybe they mean they don't have R4s, but some other flashcarts?AXYPB said:This applies to me relative to my entire city, but I still keep it secretive when I have the thing outdoors.
