I woke up to find my Wii U updating, I let it go and now I'm running 5.0.0. I was planning in hacking vWii, but I'm not sure if it is safe at this point. Any info on this?

Yes, it should still work on the latest version, so far I've seen nobody saying it DOESN'T work, so...
Well, 5.0.0 don't erase homebrew, and the logs of Wiipersonator don't says nothing about a IOS changed to make the exploits don't work, so it's safe for now.
