Hi folks

I have a friend that's finaly dusted off their wii and want to bring it into the present day. They have an unknown modchip and tried to run Fifa 10 (brickblocked) with no success.

Turns out that their systemmenu is still 3.4E so I need to know if updating with a 1:1 back-up of Fifa will update without any problems?

Would it alternatively be possible to use the same method of soft-modding by installing Bootmii, doing a Nand Backup and using the HBC to install a systemmenu wad. I currently have everything from the offline version of the older Ultimate 4.0 Guide which I was planning to use to bring them up to 4.0. This would be more than sufficient for the games they want to try.

You need to update the IOSes which are required for fifa.
That's all.

Thanks very much for the reply.

Just to make sure I have the method correct then.

Boot bannerbomb
Install BootMii and do the NAND backup
Boot bannerbomb and use wadmanager v1.4 to install appropriate ISO's for non-working games

Sounds simple, just like me lol

Already did a google to find the ISO's I need for which games so fingers crossed (I don't have the money to replace a Wii)
