01net was always right, and the Vita got RAM reduced, they wanted on the beginning 1 GB RAM. besides, this wasn't 01net, but Sony them self saying and admitting.?

Where and when was this confirmed? Pretty sure info like this would have been front page news on GBAtemp but I've seen nothing of the sort.

I totally trust in 01.net and in this.

Nintendo has always been a cheapskate.

The only two consoles Nintendo ever sold at a lost were the gamecube and nintendo 64. Nintendo goes out of their way to avoid paying others any type of royalties. Personally I think it's bull shit nintendo got away with using dvd tech just because the disc were formatted differently. Now they're going to get away with it for blu-ray too? Some how, some way nintendo needs to learn a lesson about being cheap! If it takes two systems failing at once for them to learn it, so be it.

Hmm... 01net has a lot of rumors recently.

Some have been true.

I hope the Wii U will have more powerful stuff though

Given all these rushed software updates during development, AND the fact that there are so many hardware revisions which lead to code in the OS for hardware that might not be there anymore that never gets cleanedup or reviewed, i pose a question:

Who thinks the WiiU will be just as easy to hack as the Wii? I'm seeing a HUGE software exploit happen within the first 12 months of the console, but probably not releaseed publicly until well after 3 years of console life so we dont kill it early. Ninty apparently doesnt need our help.

This source sound like a lame and I dont know this one so I dont trust it anyway. I will wait for Nintendo's own comments, thanks.

This source told all about the 3DS, Wii u and Vita month before announcement

That doesn't mean they will be always right. Plus, what happened to the E3 WiiU models? I recall they worked fairly well.

you called the source lame, which I corrected.
About the Controllers, who knows. its a very long process to make those things ready for the mass market. they could change the Tablets every time they wanted at E3, but costumers wouldn't like to send there controllers all 3 days in.

Nintendo doesn't know how to make the Wii U controller without getting sued by Apple.LOL

On topic, though:
I quote an interview with Darksiders 2 developer "Vigil Games":
QUOTEThe team at Vigil Games consider the Wii U to be easier to develop for than the PS3 and about on-par with the Xbox 360, which is fantastic to hear.

It took five weeks to get a fully-functional build of Darksiders 2 on the Wii U. But, it only took one week the get the game running at all, and then another week and a half to get a playable build. This is with three programmers working on it.
Source

I think that 01 may be wrong this time. IIRC there has been no confirmation on the Vita's RAM reduction, so maybe it's time they start changing "sources".

can u read pal?
they reduced the ram from a total of 1 GB to 516 RAM + 128 VRam

I've read that too.

To be fair, that's what happens when you try to implement new technology while also attempting to cut the costs. Something is going to be lost, one way or another.

Hey, maybe they'll scrap the stupid controller and just make a regular console, no gimmick required. That would be nice.

I may ask the same thing, read the bolded part. I didn't read all the replies, man; but thanks for the info.

Those were made in little batches and were more a proof of concept, thus they could spend more on the units. If you're a company showing off a handheld or console, you want it to work and showcase what it can do, regardless of cost. Tthe first impression sticks with the customers. If you're going to mass produce prototypes, or early versions it would be too expensive. Therefore, they need to find way to utilize the hardware more effectively at a lower cost and still give developers the opportunity to code games for the specified specs of the console. Just look at the E3 version of the ds and the retailed DS phat, you can't tell me that the E3 unit is exactly the same as the retailed phat handhelds.

Well obviously you cant, because the 01net rumour clearly stated that they cut from 512 to 256 MB of RAM.

QUOTESony has apparently decided to play the bottom of the price war is not surprising that some features have been revised downwards. So, in particular, the RAM and the VRAM (video), which were reduced by half since the first drafts presented to developers. NPM will therefore include 256 MB of RAM and 128 MB of VRAM for fast access to the PowerVR.
01net

But maybe i missed something, so why dont you post a link with your source where it says that they cut the RAM from 1GB?

Sure...

Apple is selling controllers for video-games, and is just like the Wiiu controller. hehehe

Apple will sue anyone who makes a tablet. WiiU controller= Tablet

OT, I hope this isn't true..

good news somehow, more time for them geniuses to plan the release and avoid a flop like 3Ds launch was

The 1gb was the original amount for the 3g version. Later it was changed to match the wifi version (right before the change to 256 + 128 vram) thus this is where the confusion lays.

I feel like Nintendo is starting to lose footing in the game industry. They're losing the casual market to smart phones, and the core gamer crowd to Sony and Microsoft (Mainly Sony). Nintendo has to change something or they're doomed to fail. If the Wii U is already experiencing issues, Nintendo better come up with a good plan to turn things around.

They're good. They're not gonna fail, not anytime soon, at least.

Thank you!!! \o/ Some are saying they're doom when they're nowhere near that.

Anyway, if true (which I doubt), they got couple a months left.
