Markings on that photo do look dimmer than you'd expect on a normal label, so it looks like they will light up, judging from that.

Also, damn, that's a nice looking system...still...

I just need to know if it is region-locked or not...

If it isn't I'll pre-order it day one.
chances are and information provided so far is that the 3DS will be region locked in the same manner that the DSi and DSiLL/XL are. the store purchased content will be locked to the region of the game system, and certain titles will not work (eg. the japanese pokemon black & white will not load at all on a us or eu DSi system)

I also like the fact that it appears that nintendo has gone back to a mostly matte finish like the DSi systems as well. no more of the high gloss fingerprint magnet surface found on the LL/XL systems

Got to be fake. And another thing. My Garden? MY GARDEN? And I thought 3DS was for HARDCORE GAMERS as Nintendo says.

Because a console can't possibly have hardcore and casual games, why would they suddenly give up on the casual market that helped the DS become such a big successf?

backlits are cool. You normally use backlits on cellphones even if youre already used at the T9 keypad.

I would love this feature to have an option to be turn off as it would definitely drain the battery. Another way to discharge the battery rarely.

nice !!! though it drain the battery a bit but then the problem is that it might ruin our eyesights if we play in dark and also hope that they have the anti glare so that the sunlight wont affect the 3d much !!!

Studies have shown that while your eyes might hurt when looking at such lit devices in the dark, there is no permanent damage. And, LEDs take up very little power, so it's drain on the battery is a non-issue.

What does "hardcore" even mean?
According to thefreedictionary, it means either intensely loyal, or stubborn to change/improvement.
So, you dislike new/improved things?
Or you're loyal to...something? Like what?

I suppose you think "hardcore" means violent themes, and rank-based multiplayer.

In that case, the 3DS also has violent games. On the other hand, xBox and PS3 have their casual titles too. You must be in a permanent hell, seeing all the casual titles everywhere.
