fakin awesome. I will be so emotionally wrecked if this turns out to be nothing but rumor.
Eternal Darkness is one of my favorite games, and Retro Studios is one of my favorite studios. Match made in... non-euclidean hell
RETRO STUDIOS SUCKS WTFLOLBBQ DONKEY KONG COUNTRY RETURNS WAS TEH SOXXORZ
But no really, this is awesome. They do a great job I am looking forward to this one.
Interesting, should be good if it's true.
If they implement the Vitality Sensor, and make the game like 10 times more scary I will be happy
Eternal Darkness was horrible to control at the best of times, dont get me wrong, I loved it, but even walking became a problem sometimes, nevermind attacking people.
I hope the rumer is true but if it is, I hope they fix A LOT as brilliant as the game was, it could have been so much better.
still remember playing this and my gamecube blue screen of death'd! I went mental, threw my controller, was about to slam the power button on the GC when all of a sudden the screen flips back to the game, laughing at me. Genius.
idk. i found the camera angles to be mildly annoying only at the worst of times. i usually loathe fixed camera angles, and such at older resident evil titles because of them. yet for ED i had no problem adapting and adjusting. fixed cameras are still not my cup of tea but for an ED sequel, I can lived with em and will probably not even care.
on the other hand, this kinda seems like a non-issue. fixed camera angles are so old school now and i really can not imagine a AAA title being developed by a popular and successful developer for the new generation of next-gen consoles with fixed cameras. to me that is as if retro decided to make ED2 in SD resolution, despite even most current gen games supporting HD (although obviously not on the current wii).
It is not newsworthy that Retro, a studio owned by Nintendo, would be the first to get a development kit. (It WOULD be newsworthy if Retro was one of the LAST to get a development kit.)
The console will be finished in the beginning of 2012 with luck = No E3 demos, consoles and blablabla.
I think the news is the game they'd be making, not that they got a dev kit.
In tandem with Silicon Knights? Or just Retro?
Either way, I'd love to see this. I loved Eternal Darkness - it's one of the few horror titles that I actually like. If this is true, I hope they keep a lot of the style, and just improve movement, sound, visuals, etc. I The poor controls need to be fixed, but I really dig the camera and direction of the game.
The first game was great but I think it sold like 8 copies.
bah i was hoping for a REAL new metroid unlike the last piece of crap
