Rumor: Project Natal Launching Worldwide In October

We know Project Natal will be in stores sometime this holiday season. Now, we have a more specific timeframe – October.

That’s according to Syed Bilal Tariq, Marketing Manager E&D of Micrsoft Saudi, who stated, “Project Natal will be launched in Saudi Arabia on the same time it will be launched in the world, that is going to be somewhere in October.” Tariq continued, “We will be in a position to confirm the date after E3, which is in June.”

The interview took place via phone on a Saudi Arabian TV show which Gamertag radio kindly captured.

I put rumor, as it's not official yet. But it's pretty hard not to class it as official with someone like this announcing it.

I'll be more inclined to believe this when Microsoft announces it in some American news venue. Not very professional of this guy to speak out like this, though, particularly considering he isn't even directly employed by MS.

Natal release = October
Supposed 3DS unveiling = October

And 3DS would win, even though they're not even directly competing. I don't think Natal or Sony's Move will ever amount to much more than a niche market within their respective customer bases.
