that was an old rumor about the console sending "data" about the cart ur using, a code or sth like that which if nintendo detects, they block the cart
if individual updates like that were sent, we would've heard about it already

FYI, the 3DS keeps a log of all the games you play on it, ALL of them, including DS games.
You can view your library of played software in the Activity log.

same for the wii
they still don't send a quick update to block your homebrew channel when they see it in the activity log

So will this brick the 3ds? or is that guy just geussing lol

Don't mind me, just editing the title of the thread a little.

Until we have some sort of facts, this is officially a rumor.

Apparently the guy didn't read GBAtemp enough, because I and other users have been disproving that in every thread it's posted in whenever it comes up.

It's all false bullshit spread by news sites that can't even read their own fucking sources (seriously).

ive send in a bricked wii to nintendo, you know what they did? They sended me a new wii.
I know this aint about 3ds but nintendo wont focus on catching thieves, off course they scare a bit.
Would you complain when you earn billions?
Wild stories are nice but theyre just ,.. wild stories.
still nice to read, but within a year i will be playing 3ds games, im quitte certain about it ^^
