Because some of them may actually have a Wii and played Monster Hunter Tri and like it.

But if they liked Tri and went "Wow, Monster Hunter is fun, I should try some more!", why wouldn't they just pick up a cheap PSP? I just find it a bit silly that all these people bought a 3DS and now they're like "I WANT MONSTER HUNTER SO BADLY".
Maybe they just have no interest in the PSP and already own a 3DS.
Why buy a PSP (if you don't care for it) now for an old and outdated version of Monster Hunter if a new one is likely to be announced soon?
And on a handheld (3DS) they already own?

Buying a console/handheld for 1 or 2 games is just as silly as being completely loyal to one company to the point of excluding the other.

And in this case you'd be suggesting they buy a Vita for at least $250 for the sole purpose of a "better" Monster Hunter when they already have a 3DS.
He's talking about the series. If they were really interested in the series, they would have bought a PSP for it. That's where the series started to be extremely popular. Also, there's a lot of great games in PSP, people don't know what they talk about.
In that case, maybe they got their first exposure from the Wii game.

The DS has a lot of great games too. Plenty of people don't care for the DS either.
Can't fault people if they just don't like the selection the PSP offers.

Also, MH on the PSP suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks with no second analog/better camera control.
Thankfully the Vita addresses that.

Oh. If there were a 3DS version of it I'm sure it'll suck too because of only one analog.

Anyways, if one were to come out I'll get both 3DS and Vita versions.

EDIT: didn't see 'better camera control', but will capcom really care since you've said that the PSP version had poor camera control?

The 3DS has the option of the touchscreen acting as camera controls.
And an always on screen map.
And onscreen quick inventory bar.
Plenty of games on the DS do this, I'm sure they can manage something like that for the 3DS.

Actually, that said, I hope the Vita version allows camera control with the back touch panel.
It'd be nice to move the camera without needing to take your thumb off the buttons at all.
Just quick swipes to turn the camera would be great.

That seems annoying. I keep my fingers on the back of the system when I'm holding it, so that would really screw me up. I'd rather just use the second thumb...pad.

Gosh, so many people forget this.

Even if it doesn't feel as natural as a duo analog stick, it acts as a best alternative.

Btw, totally agree with you on the Vita part.

@machomuu Sony doesn't restrict on controls, hence this can be control option 2?

Hence "option".

More options are never a bad thing.
...
WHY DO NONE OF THE MH GAMES SHIP WITH CONTROLLER CONFIGURATION?!

Touch for cameras are shitty. I don't like it. And I think most of the people don't too. Too many cons.

I don't mind it, I just move my thumb off the buttons and swipe the screen with it.
Like how you'd move your thumb off the buttons to use the right analog.

Ideally I'd rather just use the L/R buttons and remap the controller to work with it though.
Don't need vertical camera control much.

Is that really necessary? Maybe I should go around being like (inset game) in HHHHHHHHHHHHH DDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

You could say Zelda been improve then especially when you say graphics improve game play?
Also minor? It not using the 3DS full power, but that a seem like a big jump from the 64.

Do you know the actual price to this collection?

I say graphics improve gameplay when it's the difference between a game like Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 4. Presenting a game like Metal Gear Solid 4 would be impossible on the tech Metal Gear Solid was on.

And almost everything is a big jump from the N64 nowadays, the graphics look like garbage nowadays. Even the DS had better looking games than the N64.

The price is unknown to me but other collections have ranged from $30-$40 with similar features.

Bite your tongue.

He's right. N64 graphics are shitty as hell.

Come on, ShadowSoldier, it's just the truth.

The graphics, unlike the sprites from the SNES era, for the N64 have just not aged very well at all. Some of the games may be very good still, but they certainly don't look good anymore.

The graphics from that era in general have aged horribly.
3D just doesn't age well unless it's stylized.
Because "realistic" is never realistic enough.
For now anyway.

And visuals aside, the closer to realism we get, the more awkward and obvious bad animation becomes so there's that aspect too.

i would never use the touchscreen again for aiming/ camera control now that there is motion controllllllllllllllllllll

I'd say compared to now they are. As a whole they're not bad, just aged.

It's not really that they're aged, it's that the advent of LCD TVs made the graphics quality (or lack thereof) much more apparent, and things such as the HUD and other 2D elements look really pixelated and bad. The 3D elements look fine though. (but textures can be very low res)

Yeah, basically all the consoles of that time don't look as good with the kind of TVs/monitors we have now without adding enhancements.
Well I use a CRT sometimes so that may be part of it, but even on my LCD I don't think it looks that bad. Though I'd have to check, I never play with that in mind.
