Homebrew Roms Run Through NDS Bootstrap Long Soft Reset Time on 3DS

I'm running a rom of pokemon platinum on my sd card through NDS bootstrap on my old 3ds but whenever I soft reset the screen goes completely black then white for a while before rebooting the rom. It takes about 22 seconds per reset. Any help would be appreciated
