thanks for another great update, I really appreciate the time you've put into the Romnator Program.

is there a program for gba that works like rominator??

Great program!! I really appreciate the intuitive interface, and the many features that it supports. I appreciate the great attention to detail that has gone into the program. Thanks again!

Just updated to the latest version (love the program by the way) and for some reason the flash card options are not working. I add my flash card to the list of cards in the option menu - in this case N:\ is my flash card - and then when I go to the rom queue, the "Select a flash card" drop down list has nothing in it. Any thoughts?

Because you need to press Ctrl+F, or in the File Menu, select 'Scan for Flash Cards'. This will show all available cards.

Wondering if Rominator uses the same DS Clippers you put together for trimming. I think it does from what I read. Anways, just wondering if the trimmer in Rominator has been updated, or is it the same as your latest version of DS Clippers? Thanks.

Actually, they don't use the same trimming. I store the trim location in the database for Rominator -- This way when there's a game out there that has bad header info (like having a rom size of 0) I can manually set it so it doesn't have to search for the trim location.

DSClippers goes by the rom header on any game.

Thanks dude. You rock. And once again - thanks for the awesome program. Oh, I'm sure this has been answered, but any idea when you might incorporate .zip? I realize that .rz was probably a big undertaking, but .rz on a windows platform is kinda difficult to work with... the only software I can find to extract or compress to .rz under windows is your .rz tool... so .zip would be totally rad.

Thanks again,

Is there an advantage using Rominator for trimming oppose to DS Clippers? Seems like its safer to use Rominator. Just wondering, because I like having a backup of the original roms and just trim copies of the ones I'm currently using. Thanks for the info.

Ive notice, you need to scan for flash cards before you put any roms in the rom queue. If not, in the rom queue it will not show your flash card, even if you try to "scan for flash cards".

Also I have to say rominator is AWESOME.

Hiya,

Yep, it has been answered; I will implement Zip support sometime shortly. I do have other priorities to take care of as well, but Zip support is definitely next on the list

I implemented RZ support for the people who plan to exclusively use Rominator as their organizer of choice. But again, no worries, Zip will be in there.

@Saylient_Dreams:
To be honest, either one will do you just fine. DSClippers will not trim and overwrite your existing rom, it will make a copy and trim it, leaving the original untouched. If you want straight trimming, use DSClippers. For the whole sh'bang, go with Rominator.

@TheNeck:
Yeah, you need to have the Rom Queue closed before scanning for flash cards. I can fix that for the next release.

i cannot figure out how to get this thing to do the things i want. i dragged the games in, and im trying to validate the games, but wont do it. i dont even know how to trim, or change the display name (you know, when highlighting the game,shows the icon, game name, developer, etc.)

I seem to have random crashes in the later versions of rominator.
when I copy to my flash card, either rominator will crash before it even starts copying, or shut itself down after copying is complete... in some cases, it won't work again until I kill the process in task manager.
(using vista, and current version of rominator)

Currently I do not support Vista, so if it doesn't work for you, I can't help you there. For some people it works, and for some it doesn't, but currently I wouldn't consider Vista a viable 'Operating System' to support. Sorry.

@artisan:
You see that settings button? Even in the Tools menu, there's a settings button? Yeah, everything you need is in there. From there on, it's drag and drop.

yeah, I'm aware it's not supported, just letting everyone know of some issues I'm having.
see, that's the weird thing.
it was working fine.
up until a couple of versions ago, before zip came in and all, it was working fine.
