Currently I do not support Vista, so if it doesn't work for you, I can't help you there. For some people it works, and for some it doesn't, but currently I wouldn't consider Vista a viable 'Operating System' to support. Sorry.

yeah, I'm aware it's not supported, just letting everyone know of some issues I'm having.
see, that's the weird thing.
it was working fine.
up until a couple of versions ago, before zip came in and all, it was working fine.

Unfortunately, that's the funny thing about software. A previous version may work on an unsupported platform, but when you make the jump to the next version and things have been added/changed, it may break compatibility. You also need to take into consideration any security updates to Vista that you do, or any software that affects the system (such as AntiVirus software), could break some software.

Just curious but did you try Windows XP compatibility mode at all? Failing that try running it as an administrator (right-click then "run as administrator").

This keeps crashing for me in Wine whenever I click on a known (by the downloaded database) game in the file manager. I would be willing to help you test the Linux builds...
I saw the Linux link, downloaded and am not sure what to do with it.
I'm using Ubuntu.

First off, welcome to the forums. You should introduce yourself in the introductions forum before launching a complaint with something.

Now, with the download of the Linux version, it is a gZip file -- Decompress it, and run it. Done

Ha, I missed the exec permission...

Hi,

I'm also using the linux version on ubuntu. Please report if the available space on your flash card is correctly detected?
On my system, I can only use Rominator to list/rename my roms, but can't use it to trim/copy to flash because of this problem...

hy i've just taken the rominator for mac os (thanks for the version) and i have a question:
what can i do to have the complete list of ds roms (without having the roms) ?
thanks
(like file ADVANsCEne_NDS.zip on a software on pc's friend)
(i don't know if it's the right place to ask this sorry)

Well, Rominator does not list the complete ROM database -- Only ones you have. It's meant to be a manager for the games on your system, not for everything, however I think for a future release I will allow a view of all games, but they'll be greyed out unless they exist

Yeah, it didn't trim right for me either. I am going to test whether it will trim correctly to a hard disk folder that I just copy over to my flash card in nautilus. The game it trimmed just gave me a white screen.

I seem to encounter a problem with Rominator recently (Using windows XP SP2, so the OS shouldn't be of a concern technically). All functions seem to work on Rominator except for two things : drag & drop & memory card capacity availability update. When deleting files from my memory card, Rominator fails to update the change in the memory availability. The second problem revolves around the drag & drop from my games playlist into my memory card. It simply just shuts down the application. Is there something I can do to re-initialize the entire program, without messing up my precious save files? (Btw, maybe some kind of backup method for save files might be useful, conserving the original .sav extension in case the save backup gets corrupted).

But Rominator managed to detect correctly the size of your flash card?
On my system, I can't get it working...so I never succeded in using the trim option!

I have a 2Go Flash card.
For now, there is a few roms on it, and Nautilus reports 700Mo of free space.
When I use Rominator, it tells me correctly that there are 26 Roms on my card, and that these roms use 1.2Go (I also have a few other things on it).
But it also tells me my card has 1.0B of free space... therefore, I can not copy any rom using Rominator on it (I get a message no space available).
I tried to format my card again, the only change is that Rominator tells me my card has 0.0B of free space...

And I get the same effect when using a hard drive folder...

So I only use Rominator to list and rename my roms (and, that, it does it pretty well I must say

Is there a place for Rominator Skins ? I have a couple that I will be completing this weekend.

Yeah, when you complete a skin, email it to me and I'll put it in the Skin database. As for using it in your Rominator, File -> Import Skin.

@loathsome:
You already have the database

It's in your Rominator Data folder.

Ah, thanks. Which program should I use to read it? I'm planning on converting it into a MySQL-database.

Jokes on you. It already is a MySQL database

@Schlicky:
If you go to Tools -> Skin Archive Browser, you can see the available skins people have made for download... Unfortunately, there's only 1, because nobody seems to have much interest in making them. I'd love to build the skin base!

Hi, I'm getting the NilObject error too (in windows XP SP2). I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I couldn't get myself to look at all the 60 pages of this thread (huge success!)

Oh, and BTW, your program is great! Very useful, nice looking and simple ^^
