I need help cleaning up FileTrip. I have deleted all of my previous updates (besides the box art compilation from 0001-5284 and the incrementals since then) and would like the pull-down to not be so busy. Technically the DS.ROD doesn't need to be archived more than 1 or 2 versions (just in case I make a grievous error) and the box art prior to the 0001-5284 compilation only confuses things.

Can I please ask those that have performed updates in the past to delete their DS.ROD and Box Art uploads? I think it would make things look much cleaner. I'll check back on it in a week or so and PM anybody that may not have read this post.

I am so happy to hear that Rominator is going to be revived! I've chatted with Hank a few times before he dropped it due to his personal issues, and he's a great guy. I too have been unemployed for over a year, and I hope that we all can find something soon. I certainly understand his frustrations and why he dropped support for Rominator when he did.

That said, I've got over 17 years of graphic design/art direction experience and have offered my services before. If I can help with anything on the new version, just give me a shout.

At one time Hank and I spoke about making Rominator's U/I function more similar to iTunes. Didn't think there was a need to reinvent the wheel if he could simply mimic iTunes U/I with some customization of course.

I've got a spare R4SDHC card I'd be willing to get to Hank if he needs it. I've also got a lot of spare DS parts as I was buying broken ones and repairing them for awhile (mostly upper screen/hinge problems.) So if anyone has a broken DS, I might be able to fix it for him with my spare parts and then ship it onto him. Again, give me a shout if so.

Thanks again Rascal for all you've done to keep the support going!

BTW - I use Rominator on a Mac - so I hope support for that version continues!

URGENT NOTICE - THE DOWNLOAD URLS WERE BROKEN FOR A SHORT WHILE, THEY ARE FIXED

Guys, if you had an error downloading the latest files in the past few hours, I apologize. I am working with FileTrip to help cleanup the dead files. While some of them have helped me clean up the data, there are a few that I have been unable to get in touch with and I contacted FileTrip's support to help. Unfortunately, FileTrip misunderstood my request and inadvertently disabled the latest versions.

You can now use the urls in the update post as I have re-uploaded the files with a newer version number. They are the same files described in the update post with the letter "a" appended to them so that they can be downloaded while I clear up the misunderstanding with FileTrip. I just sent them detailed, step-by-step instructions on which files to re-enable and which ones to delete. Hopefully this will be corrected soon and the Rominator files on FileTrip will be cleaned up and we can move forward with a proper archive structure until the next version of Rominator is released and we're back on server-based updates (nope, no word on that yet).

There is an extra rom in the latest rod which might give problems with certain users.

5323 Cooking Mama World is in the rod but box art was not included.
Rominator tries to retrieve it from a server, fails and returns an error.

I have faith in Rascal that he will fix that in next week's update.

Yeah, when FileTrip was trying to correct the files, I had to upload my latest DS.ROD, which I forgot had 5323 (which I an still unsure of the languages, I need to test some more). I've re-uploaded a DS.ROD without 5323 to be consistent.

One feature request I'd like to put out there while I'm thinking about it:

My kids have several micro-SD cards and it's hard to remember what games are on what card without physically inserting the cards and loading them on the DS or my laptop. It would be a GREAT feature if Rominator could somehow save a cached image of the directory of each card and then be able to compare the contents of 2 or more cards. What would be even better is if you could "pre-load" the contents of those cached card images by adding or deleting ROMs on them - and then when you insert the actual card into your USB reader, it synch's the card and updates the contents to match your cached image.

Just a thought.
