Hacking Rominator Database Update info

CMB,

4793 Lernerfolg Grundschule - Deutsch - Klasse 1-4 (G) is probably fine. It was 1 of 7 non-US titles with bad CRC's (stuff like 1.79E+02). It has been corrected.

5206 Catan (N) - I misspelled Netherlands in the database. It has been corrected.

The next post will have the link to the corrected DS.ROD file.

Let me know what else you find and I'll debug it

Been a while, but I got around to checking my German release list.

For me

4793 Lernerfolg Grundschule - Deutsch - Klasse 1-4 (G)

is showing as a bad crc in the game list, and doesn´t show up as "have" in the rom statistics. Might be a bad d/l on my part, but I´ve tried several.


Also,

5206 Catan (N)

Rominator says its a missing German game in rom statistics if it´s not in my game list.
If I add it to my game list, then I am missing no games according to rom statistics, but even the games list shows it as Dutch (N).
Clicking on the box art also shows it as Dutch only.

There are also several games that are showing as German, but are multi 2 or 3. If Rominator says they´re German, and rom statistics shows them as have, then that´s okay with me.

Everything´s looking perfect on my U.S. and German games list, including removing 5206 Catan (N) from my German list.

I´ll leave the other territories for other people to check out. Good luck with the Europian list (too many multi languages for me).

1. The iND release of Youda Farmer was nuked. So far, I haven't been able to validate the Zusammen release.
2. I've corrected the box art for 5206 in the latest download. You can re-download it if you need it.

I have a problem with the ROM dragon quest IX which is numbering 5124 in your DB instead it is the number 5062 in the "unofficial" list. Is it normal or just a mistake?

Futhermore I have get two versions of this ROM and I would like to know which one is the true one. I have tried to use the CRC32 but both are correct: how can I do that?

5124 is the DS-Scene number for the Europe version of the game. I am unsure what "unofficial" list you are speaking of, so I can't comment. And yes, it is possible to have multiple copies of the same game if you had them from different countries or for some reason had two from the same country, which would show up as the same number.

There are several release lists/scenes. The French sites I visit appear to all agree, while the US sites are different. Rominator's "Scene" numbers are based on the website DS-Scene, which was chosen because it 1) excludes DSi Exclusive games which aren't playable on flash carts and 2) includes DSi Enhanced games. This makes for the best list to use for Rominator as Rominator only uses 4 digits for the Scene number and cannot accommodate the DSIxxxx style for DSi games, which some sites don't distinguish between DSi Exclusive and DSi Enhanced. I also label each DSi Enhanced game accordingly in the name field so that they can be easily searched/recognized.

I realize that GBATemp uses a different numbering scheme and if you look at their NDS Release forum, you will see that they label DSi games with DSIxxxx. When Dragon Quest IX (E) was released, there were 62 DSi Enhanced Titles, which GBATemp and some other sites lists separately, which is the exact difference between Rominator's 5124 and the 5062 you see here on GBATemp and those other sites.

I hope this helps you understand why Dragon Quest IX (E) is 5124 in Rominator, and 5062 on some of the web sites you visit. Until Rominator is re-written, which has numerous road-blocks in its way right now, Rominator will use the DS-Scene numbering system.

Hank and I exchanged a few messages and then he stopped responding. Until his life gets easier, he won't be working on the next version and without the source code and the expensive tools that Hank used to create Rominator, I can't enhance this version.

All of the box art that isn't on the server should be on filetrip. Everything before 4180 is on Hank's server. If you have bad box art before 4180, delete the file and it should replace itself. All files after 4180 are on filetrip. Just click the latest link I posted and on the right is a pull down for previous versions. Start with the oldest and get them all.
