Hello Bob,

A few roms (2 that I know of) need to be updated in the database because there has been a proper release for those.
One of them is Dementium II which has a proper release CRC 0B9A7A60.

So you are correct the .rod needs to be updated.

If I have time to finish it, I'll release a small update this weekend.

Any chance that you'll continue updating the database? Rominator is the best ROM manager for the Mac and I'm sure I'm not the only user missing the regular updates, even if we had to add them manually.

Sorry for my absence in the forum for a month.

I haven't had much time and motivation in working on an update.

I need to iron out a few details and then I can release an update to 5048.

I found 2 bad registration table in the database around 4800.
(I'm sorry, I know bad English:))
Therefore the images can be repaired.

No problem. It was fun getting into the DS.ROD database. Perhaps I can help in maintaining if you need it. I would just need a quick tutorial on the easiest way to populate the database. Judging by the release numbers, it is based on AdvScene. But it would helpful if I knew exactly how each field in the DB was built. To be honest, I took a SWAG on 5093 when I noticed that the ROM had a version of 1 instead of 0.

Hello cseri,

Thanks for the update, you probably know some stuff about SQL.
The updates I made, I edited the rod line by line, while looking at rom data from 2 websites.
Takes a lot of time.

I have a few comments. The rod file is now about twice it's size.
It grew from 871Kb to 1717 Kb.
You have a table called Sheet 1 with rom data and then there is the actual sheet ds with all the roms till 5160.

About the numbering, I continued with the DS-Scene numbering.
There are some numbering problems.
DS-Scene 4823 Infinite Space gone from the rod.
5159 Autoescuela: Aprueba Conmigo in the rod is 5144 Autoescuela: Aprueba Conmigo on DS-Scene
Just 2 examples that I found. There may be more.

About the box art.
Those are best show in Rominator with a file resulution of 200x180 pixels.
In the DS catalog you'll see what I mean what effect a wrong resolution will do. Example Autoescuela: Aprueba Conmigo.

Just a few comments.

Elbac,

Thanks for the advice.

1. I'll look into the differences between DS-Scene and AdvScene numbering. If you have valid reasons why we should choose DS-Scene, please let us know. I'm sure it's buried in this thread somewhere, but it would be nice to have a refresher.

2. We'll remove "sheet1" going forward to save space.

3. I'll see about converting the box art. It appears to only affect the last 100 or so releases, but I'll look further back to see what needs to be fixed.

Winsur sent me his cheat sheet on how he managed the database earlier this week and I will be sharing it with anybody that wants to help maintain the database.
