yes I would like to contribute to the open translation that thebestnaruto101 wanted to start for pokemon platinum See, no one is going to translate it since its coming to NA anyway (and EU), but I still dont see whats wrong with doing so, as the release may be like 8months later

I haven't checked but I am sure there's some compression in the text of the game and no offence but it might be hard to start a translation project at a novice level, for this game at least, after all there are other good games to keep you occupied with.

EDIT: but I would still like to contribute to it, since one of my friends is japanese and I could translate the translate the game through google translator and give it to him to revise...

If you want to get started with a game then I'd recommend DokiDoki Majo Shinpan or Tactical Guild.If you want to give it a shot you can also try Xenosaga I & II.All three games contain uncompressed text as far as I can remember and you can do some graphics editing with crystaltile on the first two games.

just an advice, but why don't you start a translation on a game that has already been officially translated?

for learning purposes, it's something great you can do. You don't need to worry about the translation and grammar.

So if you want to translate Platinum, try translating the Japanese version of D/P.

Because i'm over 50% sure that it will have a very similar (or the exactly the same) format.

So if you did not have problems translating D/P, then go for platinum as soon as it comes out.

"since noone of the ppl who knows how to hack and translate games wanna translate pokemon platinum, ill "help" other ppl to learn how to do so, so they can do it".

Maybe im just paranoic but who knows, after all... there is a whole post sticked about the basics of how to hack and so...

Is easier to play the game with a faq that wait for someone to make a translation if they dont want to... if someone decides to do so... you will have to wait for that... sry ^^

IN NO WAY DID I MEAN THAT. There are more games that id like to translate other than platinum. Besides, there already is plans for translating platinum.
