Probably not, Gaisuto, as most DS games use their own formats for images. This is doubly true for Phoenix Wright, which was originally a GBA game, so it probably stores images as tiles and palettes rather than as one solid image. I think we'll see a lot of custom game editors before we see a universal one. That, or maybe we might find that each developer reuses their formats, so we might see perhaps a Konami DS game editor, a Sega DS game editor, etc...
 
Nice tool deufeufeu. Did you code it on your own? Sprites would look better if they were to be antialiased.
I'm sorry if this is somewhat irrelevant to this topic, but the US release is in stock at Play-Asia. I'm sure we'll see a dump of it very soon.

for Bluestar : I know, but they are fan made, by ripping graphics from emulators and editing them. If you want to edit some sprites for a future hack, you should use mine. For a viewing matter I know that it's already been done.
for zatelli : every tools are home made, yes... The window output of the program is using basic blitting functions of GDK, the gif output was a "morning coffee" hack of the first one.
for Gaisuto : when the tool I'm making for phoenix wright will be at some good point, I will try to translate, firstly, and then edit JUS. It was already on my mind. My tools can be reused I think, because beside some compressions of their own, and their definition of animations, every thing is shaped to the ds hardware, and so every game should have some things in common in the way they use graphics.

there's no decent linux-based emulator with respect to debugging functions.
 
Nice work all concerned, as for JUS the text is uncompressed shift_JIS (I believe I took a crack at it in the release thread) but the fighting move descriptions/naming threw me completely so I did little with it, for the record a hell of a lot of games from all companies still use both 4bpp and 8bpp GBA tiles so old GBA tile editors still work.
As for desmume and debugging I agree with Normmatt, it currently may not be up there with the various VBA debugging tools but it is certainly more than useable for hacking.
 
Yes at home I can use desmume, but at work I'd rather not use it. And it is more exciting to get things from the data only... You feel like some modern times Champollion

Not really much, I know... Of course it's not a direct hex editing of the rom, it was made with this process rom->script extraction->script convertion to human readable form->reencoding->repacking of mes_all.bin->rebuilding of rom.
I used some of come back court (GS3 translation project), but as he hadn't reversed characters animations I had to reverse a bit the commands. That's what took long (besides lzss encoding is far harder than decoding...).
Also the progress of my phd is somehow slowed by this work, so this weekend might be the last time I work on this in a while. So expect some ugly but fonctional editor by the start of next week. Yet I can't promise anything, so you'll see
