I know the discussion was long over but I must give my input.
First off, Everyone here didn't always know what homebrew was, what hacking was, what an IOS was, or even what a Wii was. We all took the time to learn but I can bet a good deal of us also expected cooperation from others with a similar goal. I mean, If I want GC backups (example), and you want GC backups, why can't you fill me in? even if the information is half way across the internet?
You're saying those who don't know about homebrew, like you did at some point, don't deserve help or cooperation because they are too lazy to look when YOU are just as lazy cause you can't click the fast reply button and answer them. Catagorizing people as Noobs for being new, then scaring them off with propaganda like "OH THIS IS EXTREMELY RISKY, IF YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING LEAVE", when everyone and their grandma can do the risky mod, is just downright baffling.
Seriously?
What you should do is direct them to some threads so they can be more knowledgable. Or if you want to be lazy, put info in your sig. But why in the hell would you scrutinize someone for not knowing something that you yourself didnt know at one point!? It just makes no sense.
If you think the risky mod is too risky cause nintendo can brick your wii with some incompatible update, then how about you emphasize "DO NOT UPGRADE". Know one seems to do that. Everyone comes here with problems relating to other firmwares where it should be clear to not upgrade above 3.2. But if someone does complain that their wii is bricked from 3.3, then I'ma kindly take them through the process, and tell them never to do it again.
These People arent "Noobs", they're people. Like you and I, and they spent good money on the Wii and wish to do the things to it that you did, how about you pull a jesus and see yourself in their shoes.
