Hacking RiiskiMod 1.0

For all PAL users - I can CONFIRM that changing the video mode in any region changer to MPAL will make all black screen NTSC games work!!!!

No black screens at all - I have checked 8 games that did not work before and now they all work.

Edit: Only downfall to this, it would appear that the menu is a little bit fuzzier than normal, not really noticiable tho, im just fussy.

Edit 2 : When I started messing around the the tv settings in wii menu from 50hz to 60hz - the console crashed and then made a very loud buzzing noise through tv!
I don't know if that is releated, but i was able to reset console and then select 50hz again from the menu and all is well again.

NO, go into anyregion changer from HBC and then select the option for console video mode to mpal, rather than pal or ntsc and you should have every game working then.

i'm not sure if that would help you NTSC boys, but if your tv is pal compatible, it probably would.

Is there a reason why just using any region changer to change my region from PAL to MPAL would not give the same result of being able to launch NTSC games through disc launcher? (cioscorp already installed)

I don't get this part:
13) Select and load AnyRegionChanger M5....it'll say stuff about Korean Disc, unless you know what you are doing IGNORE it.

14) Get into the options, and IGNORE the top section which has region change stuff and EULA stuff (this isnt about region changing right now)

15) Look at the mid-bottom options, about installing 3.2 (or 3.3K), and leave it on (you shouldnt have to select, but you may) whichever one your system matches, 3.2U or 3.2E

16) Click "Go" and then answer in the affirmative when it asks if you are sure.

17) Answer "NO" when it asks about Korean Disc Loading *explained later

18) Answer "YES" when it asks you to install special starfall-type hacks. Wait for finish.

And why it is needed? Install Starfall is enough right?

Wiigee - I don't know - TRY it and report back as that may be a simpler method for PAL users, but either way NTSC has to go this way.

does anyone know if ARC will look to the SD it theres no connection>>??

What does it do?

This hack makes the disc channel load IOS249 instead of the IOS the game wants. (doesn't work for IOS Version patching needing games)

I have been doing extensive testing - i.e. game after game after game and now my Wii wont load any games that worked earlier, it resets itself str8 away. Now i don't know if this is due to changing region to MPAL, but if it was why did the first 15 games work and now they dont work either?

Ideas?

DO NOT CHANGE REGION TO MPAL NOW AS I CAN NOT GET INTO HBC CHANNEL EITHER!!!!!!!

I'm currently on 3.2u w Hb/Starfall/Preloader. From reading the tread front to back I'm believing that I have to install my systemenu wad 289 and use the uninstaller to remove the Hack ini. Then I can start at #13 on the list. Am I correct???

Edit: Jizmo my setup is similar to yours before you updated on page 5 post 72 so I guess I can follow your lead.

Okay - Ive managed to get into HBC on one wii - i can't read the options tho in firmware downgrader -

how many down from the top is 3.2e if you include the first one as 1,


please help as i can not read it its so blury and no other apps are working.

Ive fotgotten to add - if anyone changes video mode to mpal - preloader nolonger works either and a TP disc no longer shows either.

Hey guys, top work!!

I've just signed up after all these months of reading the forum through and through, and have just successfully installed RiiskiiMod on my PAL wii. Really glad this came out when it did because my WiiFree + YAOSM has just stopped working. I only had one problem which was at step 19:-

18) Answer "YES" when it asks you to install special starfall-type hacks. Wait for finish.

19) Press any button when it is done to reboot.

20a) Run Preloader0.25 from HBC

I pressed a button, it took me back to anyregionchanger, but when I clicked to reboot my console crashed, I had to hold down the power button and restart that way. All was good thankfully and I installed Preloader without any hick-ups. I'm now playing NFS backup!

hopefully you just need an autoboot anyregionchanger dvd to resurrect that, just boot it in recovery mode if possible and change the region stuff back.

or do the twilight hack with the any region changer as the boot.dol in root of SD to change it back.

UPDATE -

PAL users - If your TV supports NTSC - Change video Mode to NTSC in Any Region Changer and then you get the same result with all black screen games working with no ill effects on your console! DO NOT USE MPAL AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED AS IT WILL FUCK YOUR WII!!!!!


Jizmo - No go bud - TP disc doesent show up at all!!!!! Not good. I am working on making an autoboot wad manager now to reinstall but will have to see if it autoboots.
