I'll reinstall again with 1.7.8 and report my findings. ^_^

I put the retroarch folder from RetroArch_rpx.7z\wiiu\apps\retroarch\* to SD:\wiiu\apps\retroarch\* and copied RetroArch_rpx.7z\retroarch\cores\* to SD:\retroarch\cores\*

launched Retroarch via the channel installed on my wiiu menu. instantly kicked me back to the main menu. what did i do wrong?

That should have worked actually. The problem must lie elsewhere.

    Some other things to try...

    - Open a command prompt and type chkdsk x: /f - where x is the SD drive letter. This will check for filesystem errors.
    - Reformat the SD card (FAT32 / 32 KB clusters)
    - Test the SD card with h2testw, preferably after formatting it. This will check the SD itself.
    - Ensure that other homebrew apps are loading correctly from the Homebrew Launcher.
    - Delete any traces of retroarch from your SD before copying a fresh version.
    - Try loading it from the Homebrew Launcher instead of the channel forwarder.

Format? yikes! I have lots of other emulators and apps running from my 200GB SD card for my wiiu. :(

I'll try to install on another 64GB SD card and see if it works on that one. This way i can eliminate or implicate the SD card.

Can you join my Discord server so we can have more of a fluid troubleshooting session? https://discord.gg/HKX4PdQ

    C:\Users\PS3>chkdsk H:
The type of the file system is exFAT.
    Volume Serial Number is 6232-3064
Windows is verifying files and folders...
File and folder verification is complete.

Windows has scanned the file system and found no problems.
    No further action is required.

For me I agree the switch is my main console, but I am not abandoning WiiU anytime soon... It has too many exclusives I still love (Mario 3D world, Kirby rainbow curse, star fox zero, pikmin 3, Xeno X...). In addition to Wii/GC best gems (Mario Galaxy, Sonic Adventure, Mario sunshine).

Right, what bothers me is there's still unlocked potential for PSX and N64 emulation. That, and it's far easier to hack/mod and install a permanent homebrew channel on Wii U than Switch.

The other option is not playing at all. I don't get all the bitching. I remember when people were blown away by being able to run an SNES emulator on a Dreamcast or a PSP and play Super Mario RPG at like 20 FPS and used frame skip and loved it. Now people are mocked for playing PS1 games at full speed with "scratchy" sound? If this one is outdated, though, what is the up to date plug in you're using? Oh wait, you're not, you're complaining that people who you aren't paying are working on homebrew for another platform.

    Your mom's basement.
PS1 emulation is coming? I thought the Wii U was dead.

Yeah, it was talked one or two pages ago. Someone picked up the dynarec development and got the bios booting at great speed.

From here on it's just playing the waiting game, wich i'm ok with

Ohh look, another human being able to adapt to different control schemes in games instead of whining about how the game controllers isn't up their entitled standards.

I honestly don't think acting entitled to what's other people's work is ever the answer. I think it's good to be thankful to what exists and be thankful to what's coming. The fact few people are working towards something that will be helpful to a ton of people should be reason enough to be thankful.

Give people options and let them enjoy whatever they want however they want. Life is already too complicated as is to be arguing on the internet.

I'm already beyond happy with everything that the Wii U port does currently. So anything from this point onward is just icing on the cake. It's already a fantastic port.

Indeed it is, I used it way more than the Wii port.

WiiSX also doesn't support CD-DA audio and doesn't support CHD format. I also hope the future RA PS1 core supports Gamepad rumble (we miss that feature). Not that I'm complaining about WiiSX just showing possible advantages

Sorry no idea I believe most people here don't use RA playlists (and snapshots) since it's buggy and it's slowing down RA interface because of slow SD card access.

I'm looking forward to a proper SD card speed access, even more than dynarec lol

Hi. Did you get offended by my message about your question ? If that so I apologize.
I saw that your question got unanswered and I pointed out playlists and snapshots problems. If we could help you we would.

I've a question which I always forget to make. Is there any way of accessing the Wii U Menu while in Retroarch?

The Menu button brings up the Retroarch Menu, and while it can be reconfigured to something else (like L3), I don't think it's possible to make it so the Wii U Menu appears. Is it possible?
