But that screen doesn't look like Ozone which I know at all.
With Ozone I've only a list aswell. And I found no option to change that.
Looks more like LaunchBox.
That screen in the github comment section is a mockup by someone who had the same wish as you. It's not implemented yet but is being looked into.

Should I use PPSSPP standalone or RetroArch?
Use both and decide yourself what you want to stick with. They are almost on par with each other performance wise, it comes down to what UI you prefer (and some other stuff like standalone cheats menu or the ability to play GTA with GLES2 build). I mostly use standalone for ppsspp.

Probably problems with building.. I'm sure the core from one of the previous build will work just fine.
Where can cores from previous builds be downloaded?

Also does anyone know where the current SD card location of the "Start directory" for content is and where BIOS files should go?

Should be sd:/retroarch/downloads
BIOS files go to sd:/retroarch/system (or sd:/retroarch/cores/system, not sure right now, look where the system directory is)

I uploaded the last ppsspp core I got from the buildbot before it disappeared, from 13-08-2020: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b7fjCivHf1S1baJlrN0Jbm11stIIG3MM/view?usp=sharing

The best way to play PSP games is still the standalone ppsspp version. It performs much better than the libretro core, even the GTAs are playable with minimal frame drops on the standalone PPSSPP_GLES2.nro from 11-03-2020.

You can get the standalone version here: https://www.ppsspp.org/files/Switch/20200311_Release_PPSSPP_Standalone.7z

Just wonder is there a way to pack single core and single ROM into 1 nro/nsp file?
No, but you can create a forwarder for a specific rom so it automatically launches with the correct core so it's the same result but nothing is really inside of the NSP.

I'm not havig any luck getting Retroarch to run.

I've just updated to latest Atmosphere (0.91.4) and OFW (12.0.3)
I've updated sigpatches too.

I've installed the current stable release of Retroarch (1.9.6) and it shows in the Homebrew Launcher. When I select it and try to run it I get a grey error screen.

Other homebrew apps I have are working correctly as are installed games.

Any hep much appreciated.

Read the first post of this thread, you'll find a lot of useful information (and your answer too). And make a habit of reading manuals/tuts before actually doing something or asking questions that had been asked a million times before.

...Title redirection is what you are looking for.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was after.

And wash your damn hands!

I did search for an answer and my search results brought me to this thread but not the first page of it and not a page that had the answer I was looking for. The guide I read made mention of title takeover being "preffered" but not that it was necessary or an error would occur if launching from the homebrew launcher. Again thanks for answering my question in the appropriate thread here, I really do appreciate it.

Maybe it is a question that keeps needing answering for a reason? Is there a simple reason why you can't launch this particular homebrew from the homebrew menu?

Thanks again for the help. The other info in that first post was useful too as I would have been hoping to have Retroarch as a NSP or otherwise launchable directly from the main menu screen but I now know not to bother.

Launching homebrew apps from "the album" hb menu gives you limited RAM access and most of the homebrew apps need additional RAM to function properly (well, maybe not most, but "the heaviest" ones like emulators and different ports etc.). There's almost no reason not to use title redirection nowadays.

As for the NSP, you can create a forwarder for RA but keep in mind that its not the supported way of using it and installing forwarders will get you banned. So, if you are already banned or don't care about it at all, you can use the forwarder without any problems.
