Hi guys. I have RetroArch in my Nintendo Switch, 1.7.7. Why does it that by default or even if i configure each joypad "correctly", my left analog sticks always act like if i was pressing (Y) button ? Even if i configure the left stick to be up/down/left/right... it always does what (Y) button does. I tried to uninstall it completely, tried to just use them like they are by default, tried to configure each Joy-Con as a split Joy-Con, tried to force the correct configuration in Settings/Input ; Tried to configure them in Main Menu/Quick Menu/Controls... nothing... Anyone? I tried everything i think..

whoop
experimental save states coming to next nightly vice builds
finally i maybe able to complete quo vadis

Yup please test them once the next nightly is released. With my latest commit, you should be able to just select Save State or Load State in the Retroarch menu, like with any other core.

Also the keyboard will be even better in next nightly. You will be able to hold a direction to quickly move between buttons on the virtual keyboard.

Fantastic.
Both features seem to be working fine based on my initial testing.
Having savestates makes Vice feature complete imo now
and it's improved dramatically in usability in the last few weeks.
Thanks!

I used retroarch 1.75 and PPSSPP works. Now, RetroArch 1.7.7 and PPSSPP just crashes! Sega Saturn and others works fine. Am I missing something ? FFMPEG lacking perhaps ? I am using .nro and not .nsp. I have to HOLD R whiling launch game. I don't like it. Is there a way I can get retroarch 1.7.7 NSP forward ? Cannot find it.

read this and thought to check myself.
i too initially got a crash so i rebooted my switch, loaded up retroarch 1.7.7 (fairly recent nightly) via forwarder nsp, then updated ppsspp core with the online updater and loading loco roco worked fine that time.
tried successfully on both sx os 2.8.1, atmosphere 0.9.2

You have tetrarch 1.7.7 forwarder nsp ? I need it.

forwarder is just an nro to nsp thing.
i tried launching retroarch via R on a game into homebrew menu on atmosphere and still ok.
perhaps try a completely fresh install

I did and its works but I don't like via R on a game into home-brew. A forwarder is more sense to me. :) I have a forwarder for 1.7.5 but don't know if it works for 1.7.7 ?

Same here.

Edit: all of the below applies to the regular dosbox core. USB keyboard worked immediately for me with dosbox-svn core. Use that one in general as it has more Switch related features working.

Is there anything special you have to do to get a USB keyboard working in the Dosbox core? I have two different wired keyboards I've tried with the official dock, both of them can be used to type in Horizon's internet options, but I can't type in a dos prompt or move the Retroarch menus with it. I'm using the latest stable retroarch, firmware, and kosmos, I got mouse emulation and a few keys bound to the joycons successfully and can run dos games fine with .conf files, but nothing from my physical keyboards whether in game or at the prompt.

Better compatibility, perfect dlc compatibility, more specialized settings, cheat support that works much better, lan play (although it requires a but of set up), the list is numerous for now

the menues are atrocious though and I thank the gods that mx4w is going to add all the good stuff into the retroarch core in due time.
