I'm on 3.0.0 and everything seems work just fine.
But I really hope we can get retroarch support LibNX because of JIT support which is extremely important for enhancing speed on any emulator. As well as to make an opportunity for people who are already on a higher FW.

RA Switch being limited to 3.0.0 kinda kills my enthusiasm for the port, so yes, 4.x.x support would be nice.

4.x.x and 5.x.x support is a must.

I'm sure it's being worked on by a few different teams

Incontrovertibly, but these things take time, and my new job is certainly teaching me patience. Just gotta take it one day at a time.

Oh is that for real?

Surely, 3.x.x users can't be the Illuminati for all the emulators, right?

There’s no response from retroarch creator about Nintendo Switch port.
As I said we need to be libnx support in order to get JIT.
But seems no one is interested to working on.

The RA team made the rudimentary/basic port of it, but haven't done much with it, you can see that on their blog.

Did you think when we get gpu driver and vulkan api beside JIT can we get gamecube/wii running with fullspeed?

If you can see in this video it’s running dolphin on Nintendo Switch via Linux

It runs very well without gpu drive and vulkan api. I’m really wondering if we get these things I think we’ll reach the fullspeed without any doubt.
Tells me your thoughts.

Linux has opengl support active, which is GPU support.
Mario Sunshine runs at 20 fps, so its not a sure thing, that we'll get a stable 30 in most games.

Its been speculated that a native Dolphin port to the Switch would run better than Dolphin via Linux, as it would apparently have less overhead on the Horizon OS.
First we need Atmosphere to finish, and then the GPU drivers. After that, all other development should start to move fast.

So Fadi5555 agrees, first we wait. And the we move fast. ;)

(Hint - the release of Atmosphere has nothing to do with RA getting hardware acceleration on the Horizon OS, or ports based on different libraries. ;) )

We don't need Retroarch for Horizon when we can reboot into a GNU/Linux distribution. Just wait for kernel 4.17 and Lakka compatibility.

Disagree, it would really suck to reboot every time you want to launch an emulator.

Especially as long as FG is tethered.

A number of payloads already allow for restarting into RCM mode, this is not an issue. It won't take but maybe 30 seconds to reboot into every emulator ever, including Dolphin.

You will need Retroarch on Horizon if it turns out it performs better.
It won't, that's laughable.

We really hope to get a native dolphin emu port to switch as well as ppsspp with vulkan api we'll get a big boost.
There's no doubt the switch can run these emulators if we have already vulkan and hardware acceleration.
