Cores are not exclusive to retroarch, anyone can implement a libretro frontend and use the cores. I think some early 3ds ports were based on libretro cores since it was easy to use them (they are already stripped of most platform specific code)

Yeah, the early Nestopia port by @Steveice10 used RetroArch's Nestopia core, and I managed to get Gambatte working based off that code, but I never released it. I even had SNES9x Next partially working, but I wasn't really interested in trying to fix the weird glitches it had (it wasn't from RetroArch, it was glitchy due to my port :P), it was just for fun.

Does RetroArch have any ability to handle multi-screen platforms? Not cores (e.g. DeSmuME), I mean host platforms (e.g. Nintendo 3DS). I'm curious whether multi-screen Game & Watch titles could be played on 3DS via RetroArch without extreme difficulty. Maybe it'd be easier to craft a new 3DS frontend for the G&W core than to run it via RetroArch?

Just a protip here... For those wanting to play games using CD Audio on the PS1 Core. You can "trick" them to work by 0'ing out the track lengths in the cue sheet then converting them to PBP files with popstation and forcing it to use the existing cuesheet rather than "repairing" it. You can also open it in foobar or whatever and rip the tracks off the ISO into mp3's and simply delete the mp3 files and build directly from the remaining BIN. SOTN and Doom run wonderfully after doing this.

Was playing with PCE Fast on a 3DS, most of my games runs at 40-45fps (New Adventure Island, 1943 Kai, Pac-Land, etc..) but isn't much of a problem overall, is enjoyable.
How's the PCE-CD emulation? Need anything else besides the cue+iso files? I wanna play some cotton.

I tried Steam-Heart's and it worked fine, the 3DS will freeze when you stop playing a CD game though.

I hope that it's okay that I posted the performance of Megaman X 4 and Spyro the Dragon on o3ds on Youtube. Let me know if you want it taken down or if it's okay. Here's the link:

Surprisingly, I'm not seeing any videos on this yet besides mine.

EDIT: Take note that the frameskip is set at 3.

Totally feasible, I'll ask the guy who made the core

Awesome. Thank you! I really enjoy most of the Game & Watch LCD games as they're really simplistic and fun, and I was pretty happy to see that somebody created a core that emulates Madriginal's LCD recreations. I could emulate one of the Game & Watch Gallery games, but I'd much prefer one of Madriginal's recreations, and there are some that weren't featured on those recreations like Donkey Kong Circus. I already tried to core out on my Android tablet and it works great, and a 3DS port of the core would be even better.

Also, is the Picodrive core known for not working? It's not a huge deal since from my knowledge the Genesis Plus GX core is a lot more accurate, but Picodrive has 32X emulation. If I try launching any ROM from that the core freezes along with my entire 3DS, resulting in me having to force shut it down. Again, not a huge deal, but I'm curious if anybody knows anything about that. It'd also be nice to run a particular ROM hack on Picodrive since Genesis Plus GX doesn't like one of the hack's levels in particular.

Just came back from a little trip, on my way tested Ganbatte core from last nightly with tow games. These are my results:

Metal Gear Ghost Babel: 50 fps

Perfect Dark: 46 fps at best, 30 at worst

OG 3DS, 10.1E via ironhax.

So we have more than one game non-fullspeed, now what?

You are right, and i'm very happy with this, playing DKC (all 3) super mario world, etc at full speed.

exept 1 game: Yoshi's Island
from the moment we can play this game on full speed my life will be complete in means of SNES emulation on N3DS
If you mess with the settings you can play full speed with drops every now and again.

I never said every game was full speed. So nothing.

Use gameyob or get a <9.2 o3DS. Heck i'll even sell you one of my 3 with the DS profile and spider rop installed.

It has been said again and again that it is fullspeed on OG 3DS, it isn't and i'll keep testing and posting the results.

Or an n3DS.

As i already said, give me the money and i'll do.

I'm already using Gameyob. Not buying a second 3DS, nor cubic ninja.

Then honestly stop. We know, we said some games run full speed. If you don't want to upgrade then (for now anyway) you're just gonna have to deal with it.

The same moment i just hear talking about Gambatte on OG3DS without fullspeed attached i'll stop correcting misinformation.

Then put some of the Gameyob speedhacks into Gambatte. It really can't get any faster than what it is currently. Gambatte is an extremely accurate (and fast) emulator that doesn't utilize any non universal speedhacks. You are only minorly inconvenienced by a small slowdown in a handful of games. Further than that you're a subset of a subset of a group utilizing this software that has this issue. Most people on o3DS have <9.2. You could also sell your 3DS and use that money towards a new one.

Holy shit. I'm guessing English isn't your first language? That's fine. But we said SOME games are full speed not all of them. I'm not sure what you're not getting about that. And it's o3DS not OG3DS.
