I have no idea how. All I know is that blargsnes looked way better without this issue but now we can't use it because of hax 2.5

No I just checked and vsync was on. It's not normal tearing, it's extremely obvious sprite lag that happens on both vertical scrolling shooters in CPS2 and sidescrollers on CATSFCS (snes).
BlargSnes for 2.5hax is out, I linked it in the 1st post.

with the fba build from daxtsu I couldn't load PGM stuff (demon front, bee storm, espgaluda, ddpdoj, ketsui)

with CPS3 stuff I get a "cannot push null or empty core info into playlist" what rom did you try for sf3? region/cd/no cd etc

Did you put the pgm bios in with the roms or in the sys folder?
I'm about to try cave and pgm stuff myself, but I got sidetracked by JoJo on CPS3... which works at a very decent fps - I'm getting full speed on title screen, and varying between 48 and full speed in game (3dsx version, xml'd through youtube, n3ds).

I solved that problem using 1:1 aspact ratio and turning on integer scale.....

had really bad tearing in GBA and snes games now its all gone ;)

I put did put it next to my roms, it's not working though :'(
ddp2 (Bee Storm) loaded for me (pgm bios in same folder as roms), but it was running at less than 30fps and crashed the console as soon as I pressed a button.

Only tried one game on Cave so far... thought I'd try something a bit different, and something that's not vertical...

Sailor Moon, running at an almost constant full speed!

edit

Also... I know it's likely to only be temporary, but I've attached an smdh I made for Daxtsu's 'FBA Full'...

Integer scaler on fixed it! I left it off because I thought any sort of scaling would make it even worse. Thanks everyone.

Oops. Good thread.

makes a world of difference doesn't it? games just look so much crisper and low res ( in a good way lol) thats why I like retro games on 3ds' s screen as its low res to start with so these games just look great on it....

they really dont look right on a phone or a vita no matter what settings you apply :(

Yep 3DS is perfect for emulation because of it's screen. Otherwise a 720p screen would be ok too since most old games are 240p or around it and 720p is exactly 3x that. Always scale within an integer, I guess that's what the integer scaler does :P Small size helps too but if you are ever going to play on a pc, get a 1440p monitor. This will do 240 (ps1 and below), 480(dreamcast, old pc games), and 720 pixel perfect and still be full screen.

the small screen isnt much of a problem tbh but it would help if there was some decent overlays that you could apply like you can in neopop and gameyob ect...

they exist but I dont think none of them work on the 3ds build due to resolution differences ect :(

It seems like the wonky reverse graphics in the vertical Cave shmups can be remedied by changing "Settings>Video>Allow rotation>OFF". Directional input remains skewed, but I doubt it's much of an ordeal to reconfigure.
Been having a blast testing out some old favorites:

Parodius (hovers around very playable 50fps, sound issues)
Ninja Gaiden (full speed excellent sound)
POW (full speed, excellent sound)
Toki (full speed, sound effects are fine, but soundtrack seems to run slow)

Does the 2.5 hax currently offer any major advantage for retroarch over 2.1? This is pretty much the only homebrew I'm running, but currently I'm still at 2.1 because of 2.5's lower successful boot rate in menuhax.

at the moment nothing but as newer builds are released the extra memory that 2.5 unlocked will surly be used ect

Umm so how do I get the xml file and how does it work so the new fba core works (I'm using ironhax)
Copy the code from this post into an xml document (or txt doc, and change the extension to xml),name it the same as the 3dsx and put it in the same folder:
All right, let's get ridiculous, now:
Code:
<targets selectable="true">
    <title mediatype="1">00040000000B0F00</title>
    <title mediatype="1">00040000000CCD00</title>
    <title mediatype="1">000400000015FA00</title>
    <title mediatype="1">000400000015FB00</title>
    <title mediatype="1">0004000000126300</title>
    <title mediatype="1">0004000000126100</title>
    <title mediatype="1">000400000011D700</title>
    <title mediatype="2">0004000000126300</title>
    <title mediatype="2">0004000000126100</title>
    <title mediatype="2">000400000011D700</title>
    <title mediatype="1">000400000014E500</title>
    <title mediatype="1">000400000014E600</title>
    <title mediatype="1">000400000014C200</title>
    <title mediatype="1">000400000014C300</title>
    <title mediatype="1">00040000000EDF00</title>
    <title mediatype="1">00040000000EE000</title>
    <title mediatype="1">00040000000B8B00</title>
    <title mediatype="2">00040000000EDF00</title>
    <title mediatype="2">00040000000EE000</title>
    <title mediatype="2">00040000000B8B00</title>
</targets>
This XML should try to launch under:
  • YouTube (US/EU)
  • Monster Hunter 4 Special Demo (US/EU)
  • Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (US/EU/JP, either eShop or cartridge versions)
  • Super Smash Bros. Demo (US/EU)
  • Super Smash Bros. Special Demo (US/EU)
  • Super Smash Bros. (US, EU, JP, either eShop or cartridge versions)
Again, I haven't personally tested the vast majority of these.
What you'll need for it to work is listed in the quote.

So is there anything else? I have the xml file in there do I need to select anything with it? I have those games in the quote but it still hangs on a screen with a glitch mess on the top and a red screen on the bottom.

I figured it out. It's said that it launches via apps.I updated my Youtube app and it launched now.

I'm limited to the youtube title, and had to update to the latest version of the yt app w/ the shop spoof before it would boot. Smooth sailing now, with the same setup as you.
