I installed RetroArch on my old 3DS XL and it looked as though it installed fine. I got my ROMs on there, all I really want to play is Pokemon Red and Sapphire and they can be played fine on Twilight Menu, with only one issue with the screen being duplicated a little bit on Red. How ever, after I install the core I want and go to 'Content' and browse the SDMC/ it closes with an ARM 11 Error. I can browse the file skystem on any other program like FBI or TM but obviously not on RetroArch. I'm using the latest version of RetroArch as well. I already did the troubleshooting mentioned in this post: 'Luma3ds expection occured arm 11 (core 1)' by Babolph, but all tests come back passed and the issue persists after formatting and re-copying all files.

Try the gambatte core, if you stick to retroarch.
Or, use the mgba standalone emulator.

The same error occurs when using the Gambatte core.
The standalone emulator runs it but does so worse than TM (lower framerate and horrible sound), and I want retroarch for the optional speed boost.
I think for o3ds it's better to use open_agb_firm or VC injector. mGBA for 3ds is designed for new 3ds, just like RetroArch.
How would I go about using either of those, with the mentioned want of RetroArch's speed boost.

Hi, I just updated my 3DS RetroArch to 1.20.0 and I'm getting the same error you mentioned, I guess there's a bug there. I reverted back to version 1.19.1 and everything works fine, you can try that version to see if it works for you. By the way, if you're using the .CIA version, you have to delete the 1.20.0 version cores from the 3DS menu and reinstall the 1.19.1 version cores.

3DS RetroArch 1.20.0 also gave me the Loading Content error on my New 3DS XL. I reverted back to version 1.19.1 like you said and it worked. Thank you.
