There had been a dispute going on a couple of days ago between gaming preservation site Forest of Illusion and retro game distributor Piko Interactive.
Piko Interactive is planning a N64 cart release along with other ports on a Kickstarter campaign.
Piko Interactive claimed that Forest of Illusion´s release of a Glover 64 prototype would reduce their income from a possible cartridge release.
This all turned out to be a big misunderstanding.
As a sign of good faith and effort in video game preservation, Piko Interactive released the earliest Glover N64 build they have in their developer back up.
The build is dating Feb 5 1998 and can be downloaded for free from their website:http://pikointeractive.com/uploads/WHACK1.N64

This more innovative era of gaming needs to make a resurgence, I swear; these days, it's all just established franchises, or making a new one by tweaking an already-existing one in a few ways.

I'd love for Glover to return, and for Ratchet & Clank to gain a remake trilogy (quadrilogy, considering Deadlocked was awesome as hell).

The innovative stuff is still around, it's just mostly on the indie side these days. Long gone are the days when AAA studios were willing to take big risks.
