I suggest that the research group behind this supposed "study" learns the basics of the Scientific Method.
I suggest you actually read the entire article and try to understand what it's saying. And if, after reading it, you have any specific objections (instead of vague blather), I would love to hear them.

Looks like we have a full house, its a proven fact that having Anal sex with someone with the HPV virus can give you anal cancer, vaginal sex gives a woman cervical cancer, so there's nothing to say that this isnt fact also

So it went from STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) to STI (Sexually Trasmitted Infections) to STC (Sexually Transmitted Cancer!).

I find this hard to believe. Smoking has to do sooo much more damage than giving oral sex...............

Gah, was going to see if anyone was gonna mention that they are called STIs now.

QUOTE(Thesolcity @ Oct 5 2011, 01:21 AM) So STDs cause cancer now, eh?

Mouth and throat cancer, called oropharynx cancer, used to be a disease seen most commonly in elderly persons. Tobacco smoking and alcohol use were known to be the leading causes of oropharyngeal cancer. Today, oral sex is listed as the leading cause of cancer of the mouth and throat.
So I actually just read the article aaaand...
Apparently old people have lots of oral sex?

Well, they can't keep up with all the thrusting, moving and standing in strange positions, I guess.

Guys, its okay. As long as you suck the same person and no one else you should be fine. Also, don't make out with the person who just sucked unless you suck them as well.

Putting your mouth on something that someone urinates from was sure to cause some problems.
You know, some people even drink their own urine to heal some illness.

I guess I'm not concerned about that cancer then ...

I thought oral sex just meant talking about it.

Might you then prefer to colloquial term "fellatio"?

My thoughts? An incentive to probably stay safe (in bed), as usual. Otherwise, it's good that they're at least onto something regarding some form of some cancer!

Little Fact of the Day..

HPV also cause Plantar Warts on your Feet! Trust me...those suck! I was a Cashier back when I developed those. Had one froze off, using Compound W for the other two over the span of a month...blame it on the floors of the recreation area near the swimming pool.

Yeah, them Plantar Warts burn like hell, and I had to take an extra 2 breaks just to cope with them. Likely had I been a sales associate I would have still fared the same. I am one as of two years ago btw.

I haven't been swimming at any recreation pool since, sad cause I likes my hot tubs.

This is So Bogus, Not one accredited study and saying your 8 times more likely if you Do alot of oral to get a cancer, well 8 times more likely than zero still remains at zero. They have No accredited studies and no Control protocols to prove that it was not dozens of other things This is just propaganda from the Moralistic christian right wing.
