I've recently been going through all of the Spider-man games on the DS.
For me Web of Shadows and Shattered Dimension are masterpieces and the rest mostly feel like kid games or betas (Edge of Time, Amazing).
Spider-man 3 actually had satisfying combat and felt like a fun game... except that combat is frantic stylus flicking and I'm not a fan of doing that for an entire game.
Unlike games where you can easily just run an emulator and map a stylus tap to a button, this one uses directional flicks up/down/left/right to direct all of your attacks. It was a stylus gimmick. Some people love it, but I can't enjoy it that way and the need for the gimmick to sell the DS is long gone.
Less of an annoyance, but not ideal, is mapping jumping to up and web swinging to left right while in the air. (Makes sense with the stylus gimmick.)
I would love to play this like WOS or SD, where B is jump and B again is a web swing in the direction you are facing. Y would be a flick in whatever direction you are facing by default or in the direction you are pressing with the dpad. A would be a tap in the direction you are facing or the direction of the dpad press.
Similar hacks were made for Rhythm Heaven and Phantom Hourglass. I don't know if anyone out there has the skills and the desire to attempt this, but I just wanted to make the request if it can peak anyone's interest.
If anyone knows how to do this on an emulator, I would appreciate some help. Community wise, a romhack would be better since it would work on real hardware and not require an emulator setup, but I will take what I can get from anyone kind enough to offer.
