I edited the files
You will now have the right model in the menu and when you save and i changed the icon aswell
And the order system will say prince/princess based on the gender you want to be
Basically this is exactly like the 3ds mod

There is 2 files so use the one with the gender you want to play as

Also it's best to use with the order

It doesn't seem to work properly. I'm playing as male, using the order to make my sprite female. I downloaded your female file and it does change the menu, save icon and text..but it makes my sprite male with the female face glitched ontop.

Did you try the one i updated or is it still that problem with that one aswell? Also did you do the order change?

It's still unfortunately broken for me. Exact same issues.

I tested them both and i didn't have the problem at all but i tried to update the file again
The problem the first time with the female file was that i left the male files in there which caused the face glitch(like it loaded the male when using the order)
So maybe you could check if the files there? maybe that could be the problem unless you did delete the file before trying the new one i updated the files again removing all face files maybe that was what caused the problems for other people

If the file doesn't work just delete the face folder in romfs and you should be able to use everything else just fine with the changed apperence order.

@kojomidori im not sure if i did i right so
1. i Put the hole folder on my sd card in atmosphere and created there an content folder and put the "010051D00E3A4000" folder in there since o got no other content folder

This was exactly my problem. The males files were indeed left in the folder, all I had to do was delete them and problem solved. Thanks for sharing the files!

I'm a little confused, I tried reading through all the comments twice to determine where this request/project is in its development. In the 3DS version the modded ROM switched out the text only, if I recall correctly. You then had to use a save editor to give yourself a new game+ and purchase the orders early.

I see two people here have uploaded modded files. do I need both? All I would really need is the text changes I think. Then wait and hope for a save editor?

There was a 3ds mod that changed, the in game menu model,icons and text.
I Tried to do the same as the 3ds mod i once used a when i played the 3ds.

You need the changed apperence order for the portrait to be right because there is a different face positions.

The mod will change everything else.

Hey, thanks for replying. On this thread I see two people have shared files, Julianuf and you. I assume I just need the files that you shared then, Kojomidori? So if I want to play a female character and have same sex marriage I would use the file labeled female then?

I am new the switch modding scene, what homebrew should I look for to swap my save files in and out?

And thanks again for replying, playing Rune Factory 4 again is one of he few reasons I am setting up CFW on my switch, I love that people took the time to import these changes.

yeah that's correct, the female file is the one you want.

The latest version works. Seems like I had some leftover files from the first one. Removing them fixed it. Thanks!

Does anyone know if the newlywed mode allows the orders? I know at least the mode uses 3d models for the portraits.

I tested both the files to make sure they work. (and they do)

It will not work without the appearance order.

If this mod doesn't work it's either because you have the old file downloaded or you don't have the appearance order on.
I originally made a mistake when I first uploaded with the female file by keeping some male files in there it has been fixed now so if you downloaded the old one delete it and download the new file.

Edit: Ok, I placed the files in the atmosphere/content folder and it seems to be working. I am new to switch modding though, could someone explain where to put the save files so I can use them in my game? I assume I am using EdiZon to restore them?
