Edit: back on topic, is the pedometer counter located in the gamecoin.dat?

Edit 2: I see MrCheeze already said that changing it has no effect, I wonder if it has anything to do with how it resets daily.

It's stored in the same place as game coins. But strangely, changing it has no effect, unlike the coins.

What game were you using to gauge whether or not it's working, Pokemon or Mario & Luigi?

Ah man, I laughed way harder than I should have at that.

But yeah, it's not hard to get coins by just shaking the 3DS. Takes about 5 minutes (tops) to hit 1000 steps. And the kicker: you can just change the date and get another 1000 steps, then set it back. (provided you went back in time and not forward because you'll lose the coins until that day passes for realsies)

Was talking about getting 1000 steps in a day, not 1000 coins. Edited my previous post to clarify.

sure ok, i was just confused since you said it is not hard to get coins, and then said it takes 5 minutes to get 1000. but i understand now thanks
