It means that if nobody is willing to put my translation into the game (which requires knowledge + time that I don't have), this game will not be translated.
Culdcept on xbox360 took over a year to come out and I don't think it sold well enough to warrant another release.. It's an awesome game but I have to admit that it's not exactly mainstream.
Hence I said I'd be willing to translate the game but unless someone steps up and does some serious hacking it's not gonna happen.
Well, the single player isn't actually that great (still decent, but it gets kind of tedious and is somewhat based on luck at first since you don't have a lot of cards available). Multiplayer online is pure gold though.
I love Culdcept! This would be great to follow through on, even though I should be able to pretty much figure it out on my own since I already know the game mechanics, etc.
since i would like to see such game in English on a DS ... but have less then zero Japanese knowledge - here is my contribution:
a very simple lame buggy feature-incomplete Culdcept DS messages/menus editor :
works in windows with .net 2.0 framework and Linux with mono
it needs ndstool in PATH
windows users can just put ndstool.exe in the same directory as CuldceptDSEditor.exe
also it would be nice if someone write a description of pair of cards as they appear in game
(so i can find them in ROM and try to add card descriptions editor)
OK here's some stuff you may need. I expect though that the cards will mainly made up of control characters though. I cut off the sentences the way they are cut off in the game. I don't know if this is necessary information or not. I'll leave that up to you.
Some random lines from story mode (which deal with explaining the game mechanics):
Some explanation that appears when floating over one of the buttons in-game:
ゲームの進め方を説明
します。
マニュアルも見られま
す。
Information that appears when pressing the "select" button in-game:
スペルカードを使うと魔力を消費します
Hopefully you can get the compressed text out of there. Thanks for all the effort so far and I hope you can make the rest work as well^^ I didn't check out your editor yet. I'll do so once I have some more spare time.
