Hacking replacment internal microphone

well i got a pink ds lite of ebay with a broken hinged. its all fix now in a brand new pink case from dx(amazing condition). but it seems that the person has damage the cable on the microphone so i need a new one. i was going to get a external micophone but i dont want to have to carry it around with me. so any one know where to buy

meh. I would just reccomend getting an NDS headset. I saw them at sears.

The mic in the DS is a standard part and is in lots of things such as a pc mic , take a look and you will see! very easy to remove from any device and install into your DS.

i know what a microphone looks like but the ds lite is a very small microphone. with a differnt conector on so thats not any good what your sugesting please dont reply when you dont know.

I would get the headset, you will look stupid, but its the easiest choice.

i said i don't want to have a headset its easy to open the ds and change the mics. just need to know where to get one.

You take the old mic and de solder the wires then take the new mice and solder them on there , The microphones you get in cheap pc mic's are the same size so would do the same job! and a simple thanks but no thanks would have dont instead of " please dont reply when you dont know "

Thinking on if its just not working then it probably is just a simple case of changing the wire or repairing the existing one as the mic won't be damaged...

its the wire on the mic thats damaged and ive try to change it but i cant change the connecter. and ive looked in 4 pc mics none are as small as the ds all the ones that i found are about 3-5mm to big

I brought a ds with a broken hingde and did a case replacement and u could see damage to the cable plus it dosnt work when playing games

If the damage is just to the cable, could you possibly just repair the wire?

I know you didn't want to do all the soldering and stuff (and I don't blame you) but that way the connector and mic itself will be the right size.

N.B. you might need extra wire, as the mic wire is only just long enough to reach the socket on the motherboard.
