Hello, everyone. I was wondering if there exists an homebrew that lets you rebind the joy-cons' buttons to a simulated PC keyboard.
I know this sounds like a weird request, so I'll explain why I need it:
Basically, it looks like Undertale can be fully modded on Switch. There's this one video on Youtube made by EZOnTheEyes that explains how to do that, and makes it look pretty easy. All you need to do is just modify the data.win file (just like on PC).
So, I tried doing the same with a fan translation mod, the italian translation mod. To my incredible surprise, the game booted and it actually worked!
Until I realized that none of the buttons did anything. The game played the intro and that was it. It then tells on-screen to "Press Z or Enter" (in italian) but nothing happens no matter what I do.
I'm trying to solve this, as my cousin likely wants to play it, but doesn't understand english a lot.
So I tried posting on the comments of that video, and the channel owner suggested me to use a real keyboard connected to the dock. That sounded far-fetched, but it was worth a shot.
Amazingly enough, it worked again! The entire game can be played like this, by connecting a keyboard to the Switch's dock.
But, at that point, it's not much different from playing on PC, is it?
So here you can see my request, if there exists any way to remap physical buttons to a PC keyboard.
This way, the entire game could be played translated and in handheld mode, and, well, with an actual controller.
Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance.
