Hello everyone. Today I'm releasing a Windows tool that will make the GBA injection process much easier and customizable. I'm introducing Ultimate GBA VC Injector for 3DS.

What does it do?:
It takes a GBA backup file and converts it to an installable CIA for your 3DS with CFW. It does all in a one single program.

Requeriments: Microsoft .NET framework 4.5

Tutorial:
You'll just follow the steps in program. But just in case:

Step 1:

Open the program. You'll see this screen:

Press Open GBA File button. It'll prompt you to pick a .gba file.

For this tutorial I'll pick the game Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

The application will try to guess the parameters for step 1 reading the rom file. If there's no luck with that, the application will search the rom in an offline database.

When you pick a rom you'll be able to go to Step 2 (icon and name).

Step 2:
This is the Step 2 main screen:

All the fields are explained in the info boxes, but let me know if something doesn't understand.

Complete the fields making the most legit as possible (if you want to). For example:

I used a title screen screenshot in it's original size as icon (the program will automatically stretch it).

When you complete all the fields you'll able to go to Step 3 (3d banner).

Step 3:
This is the Step 3 main screen:

Note: The program will load some default values (based on those in Step 2), but you can anyway replace these default values with ohter ones.
Example: if you want the icon and 3D banner to have different images, then first complete Step 2 with the icon image that you want and then complete Step 3 with the banner image that you want. Otherwise if you are too lazy or you want the same standard as legit VC CIA, leave it as is.

For this example, I'll let the same banner image as the icon one, but I'll edit the bottom banner, importing a custom one I made with GIMP (using the import and use custom footer image option):

You can also make your own text banner without leaving the application, as a quick and easy solution. You can change the font type, size, and brightness. Also there's a preview of that text banner (ignore the red borders, they won't be there in the console).

When you complete or modify all the fields you'll able to go to Step 4 (VC parameters).

Step 4:
This is the Step 4 main screen:

Yaaay! A lot of options!

Ghosting Adjustment:
Set to 0xFF (None) for a non-ghosting game.

Color Config: Set to Original (no dark filter) to disable the dark filter at all.

Sleep patch: Attempt to apply a sleep patch to the rom. Some (most of) games won't even launch when applying sleep patch, so be careful with it.

For this tutorial, I want no ghosting, dark filter disabled, and sleep patch activated.

Once we have everything ready, press Finish button.

That's it! The application will ask you where do you want to save the CIA file and It took some seconds to create it.
When the CIA is ready, the application will let you know it.

Then you can install the CIA in sdcard using any CIA manager (actually I use the new FBI).

any idea why pokemon fire red/leaf green saves wont work?
 
Any possibility of allowing you to make games full screen? Those little black bars on the side of the game screen slightly annoy me

Not with the official VC, and plus to get rid of those bars you would have to stretch the image into a different aspect ratio, which would look godawful.
 
You have to use the SRAM patch on One Piece (USA) if you want the game to save. I learned that one the hard way, heh!
 
Hi! Thanks for using my tool.

I did this steps and now I have perfectly working FR/LG, R/S/E (all of them) with sleep patch included (that's optional). The only "annoying" thing is that FR/LG have the "The save file is corrupted. The previous save file will be load" message after the main screen, but the game saves and loads just right (I mean, the message appears, but the save file works):

1. Grab the untouched roms and follow this guide.
2. Grab the patched roms created at step 1 and put them on my injector. My injector will say that the roms are not in the database, because we have modified them at step 1. Attention: when injecting R/S/E, CHECK RTC option at step 1.
3. Fill all the steps. Game name, publisher, create the icon and banner that you want.
4. In step 4 of the injector, generate a random Product code and a random Title ID. Make sure the Title ID don't match with an eshop one (use 3dsdb to do that). Set Ghosting Adjustment to 0xFF (None), Color Config to Original (no dark filter) and check Sleep patch (if you want. this is optional).
5. Export the CIAs and install them. They should work as mines does.
i hope someone with gba rom hacking knowledge could find the value to disable the annoying mesage "The save file is corrupted" so that wa can make a legit looking FR/LG gba vc...
 
I used this method to get Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade onto my 3DS and was wondering if there's a way to use cheats for GBA games? One of my units got killed by Dory's Killer Axe and I wanted to see if it was possible to bring them back.
 
Hi Asdolo, I don't know how to convert Mario Pinball Land.gba correct.
This rom has a EEPROM_V124 save type.
I choose the EEPROM save type on Ultimate GBA VC Injector for 3DS 1.6b ,but it still can not save.
Please help me,thank you.

Another question is , when can this software support FLASH1024Kbit save type?
The reason about this question is that some Chinesization gba game is use this save type.

It supports FLASH fine. Just try it. Some games need a patch though.
 
Hi, I've a problem with each injector. I've visual glitches in cover, icon and text images as shows:

I had this problem as well. Try to turn off the size improvement in Windows. It has to be at 100% for this Injector to work properly, and that fixed it for me. :yay3ds:

Any idea on how to properly inject Mother 3?

I used the program and everything works nicely (chose save type as SRAM) but there's one tiny issue, whenever you get defeated in battle, there's no gameover music, the battle music just keeps looping.
Yes I'm using a clean japanese dump, yes I'm using the latest v1.2 patch from Mato himself.

It's an issue with the ROM itself i believe, you can easily google on how to fix it
 
There seems to be a problem with some of the Pokemon Rom Hacks. The Rom Hack I'm trying to play right now is Dark Rising and whenever I try to save it says "Save Error: Please Insert Backup Memory". Please Fix this.
