The game has been running smoothly on my system with a newer firmware for quite some time. I’ve developed a simple solution that I’d love to share with you. 😊

Just copy the small file to the correct location, then install or launch the Mario 64 mod – and it will work with any firmware version.

Greetings from Germany :)
Can you elaborate what this is and does?

Greetings back from Germany ;)

While it indeed lets the game work, it crashes when trying to load the modifications menu. This means that the game is stuck with the ugly "high poly" model which is quite annoying

It's great that this lets the game boot at all and I thank you for your great work, I just wish I could play it with vanilla graphics or Render96. Maybe it happens because I'm on CFW 19.0 and Atmosphere 1.8.0?

EDIT: After getting a single star, the modification menu works, even on a new file. How odd, but either way thank you!

For me even after getting one star the modification menu is still crashing =( Im on 18.1.0 and the lastest atmosphere...

Deleting savedata didn't work for me. Crash still occurs when getting into the mod menu. But now I am curious of what could be causing this crash. Could there be a compatibility issue with some Ultrahand plugins?

Thanks a lot!

I am unsure as to what could be. Did you download the file I was quoting in my post?
I'm on 19.0, dunno if that would affect anything. I also tinkered a bit with josete2k's files that he linked previously for AMS 1.8.0, but I don't remember what I kept and what I didn't, because I also tried to use his files for AMS 1.9.1 without updating CFW, which caused Atmosphere not to boot at all. Josete2k's files for AMS 1.8.0 are here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/sigpatc...kate-fss0-fusee-package3.571543/post-10615870

Same result... Downloaded the files, deleted the save again, got 1 star and it still crashed... =(

Are you using sys-patch? And after adding the files, did you reboot to payload and relaunch AMS?

I just realized that you are on latest AMS but on 18.1.0. I dunno if that has anything to do with this, as I am on 19.0 and AMS 1.8.0.

Yes I do have sys-patch and yes I did reboot and relaunch with each change I did

Even before updating AMS I still had the same error

I'm just saying that your setup my be peculiar. Maybe something is causing issues there, though I do not know enough about this to tell for sure.

I just tinkered around with a few files from josete2k, had to re-download AMS for 19.0, and eventually it just worked on its own after getting the first star. I'm not really sure what made it stop crashing.
