Okay so maybe I am missing something, but how exactly do I go about extracting/using a .xi file? (I assume it is a image of some sort.
(Sorry I am very new to this)

You can't, currently there aren't any tools that view .xi files.
Based on the size of some .xi files I'm guessing they're not images but achives of textures, some are 32mb, I don't think youkai watch is using textures that're 32mb in size.

Ah okay thank you, that makes a lot of sense.
I just wanted to make sure I was not missing something.

I tried opening a .fa file inside the EUR version of Inazuma Eleven Go CS but it says "could not open .fa file"

Any ideas?

Nope, whatever I try it throws the same error at me:

desktop\output\3ds-xfsatool.exe -i file.fa -o output-file
Could not open file.fa

To make it easier I've renamed the file to "file" and the output foler to "output"
I guess I've written something wrong or the fact that I have to run the .exe from the command window is causing problems

Since this was bumped, I wanted to say there seems to be a small bug.
In "xfsa.cpp", change this to this.
Code:
entry.offset = (decomp[i+1] & 0xffffff) << 4;
to
entry.offset = (decomp[i+1] & 0x1ffffff) << 4;
I noticed this when trying to extract the vs1.fa for PLvsAA. Right now it is getting the wrong offsets on some files.

Any news about a software update giving the possibility to open .xi . xc .xwhatever files to get pictures and 3D models from Level 5 and Yo-kai Watch games ?

Does anyone have any sample files from Yokai Watch? Like the .xc files?

I have one
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By53VSe99mmgWDd1MTE5Z0JHQWc/view?usp=sharing

It's not the whole extracted romfs file, but I think most of the things are there (like models etc.) What I've uploaded is from romfs > yw_a.fa (which I named "raw")
should contain the .xc files too (in the characters folder I saw them)
This one is from yo-kai watch 3 Sukiyaki.

If anyone need anything else (like the whole romfs.bin) just let me know

    Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
