I think somebody else had that problem and they solved it by backing up their SD, formatting and re-copying all the data.

I've just ported the PHP UTF-8 decoder to C:

This outputs the same value for é as the PHP script, so now all that should remain is integrate the decoding code into the font engine and the font converter, re-convert the font and test. But that will be a job for tomorrow as I'm exhausted now.
I used to have a similar problem but it was when booting up the homebrew launcher not when changing folders. Since the reformat it boots up really fast and the folder used appear right away with the build I was using yesterday. I can try reformating again tonight when I get home.

For anyone having real long load times using this launcher this fixed all for me. Make a backup, format and restore your files. Thanks @ketal

Update: I tested deleting a folder and keeping 3 just like the 3 that it only displayed yesterday and now the folders loading is fast again. So the problem must have something to do with having more than 3 folders. :unsure: I really like the new font size. :yay:

Update 2:It staterd loading the folders slow again so I tried cleaning up my sd card Root which had a lot of stuff in it and I think that was the problem! I now 6 folders and they are all loading fast. :hrth:

Hey mashers , just a heads up, every time you upload a new revision, you think you could add like a version number be it beta 1-2-3 or so, It's pretty confusing to check the OP when it says "last edited" but its probably like changelog updated instead of a file update :) Would be really nice to keep track of your changes. Thanks again!

Ahh ok. I'll have a look at the folder scanning code and see if it can be optimised. Thanks for posting the solution :)

Looks like the target selector doesn't work, it doesn't list any title.

Can you give details about your console, FW version and HB entrypoint? Another person has reported the same but I can't replicate it - it works for me. Also, can you please edit your post and put the image in a spoiler tag? The image is huge!

Ok, I've just attached beta 11 of the grid launcher to the first post in this thread. This version adds support for unicode characters in the font engine. Please note that currently the only character I have actually added is 'é'. Please could somebody with a Pokémon game test this for me to see if the text displays properly now? I don't have any games with that character in the title, and although I edited a .smdh file to contain that character, I want to be sure it definitely works with the text within the smdh data on a real cart or homebrew title.

Once it is confirmed that this unicode fix works, I will add the other characters to create a full set.

Edit - Oh I forgot, beta 11 also adds rounded corners to the buttons in settings/folders. I need to sort out the alignment of the text on these buttons but for now they look a bit better with rounded corners.

The é character was already working for me.... Weird.

Ok, edited the post, sorry for that .

My FW is 9.9U on O3DS. Tried both with IronHax and ThemeHax and get the same result.

Funny thing: i remember at first the select screen displayed correctly. I didn't notice when it stopped working correctly and it kept displaying like that even when I updated to newer versions.

Oh shit me too. WTF?! I tested this and copied it over to my 3DS and it worked, copied it again and it's fucked. Hang on, I'll look at it right now. Sorry guys.

Right, I've worked out what the problem is. The font engine splits the string of text up into words so it can line wrap it. I *think* the problem is that the engine is splitting the text up between the two bytes of the unicode character. This is fixable, but will take a bit of time. Sorry guys.

Ok dudes, I think I've sorted it since it now correctly displays "pokémon" as typed into the SMDH creator. Please could you test again with a cart and tell me if it works? Thanks guys and sorry for the fuckup!

Mashers I have just downloaded the latest version and save manager crashes when I try to load it was loading fine in previous versions I can also still load it using smeas homebrew launcher so can only presume you have broke something in latest update if it helps I have original 3ds on 10.1 and have tried it with tubehax and oothax.
