It may sound like a stupid question but are your phone and 3DS close enough ? The WiFi can be unstable if not, especially with a phone because the WiFi is less powerful.
yeah they were next to each other however i was able to get it to work by manually turning on hotspot and changing its name all good now thanks

If it works with the official page I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work with the app too

lighttpd in cydia is a web server on Telesphoreo and there is a lighttpd SBsettings toggle on bigboss (which also adds a needed config file for lighttpd and adds support for PHP). All you need is to install that and drop the index.html file from the android app into var/www/ (for those who may not know, you can open an .apk file with winzip/7zip/whatever. Rename it to .zip if you need to.). Perhaps I'll give it a go when I get bored and post instructions.

This is for a jailbroken iPhone/iPad, of course...

Edit: there is also cool info here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=16273721&postcount=13

Looks like more than one solution to get it running on IOS, including the Apple TV (if you have an older jailbroken model... people like me with the ATV3 are still SOL :( )

Sorry for the necrobump, but this app shouldn't work with the last gateway firmware right? (i haven't updated my 9.2 emuNand to be able to use this app )

The new firmware is not changing anything for the classic 3DS, it only affects the New 3DS I guess (I don't really know) so the app should still work with the classic 3DS (but obviously not for the N3DS).

I don't know, I haven't updated my Gateway yet, tell me if it worked if you tried the app with the latest Gateway version :)

I was trying for the 1st time on a new 3DS with firmware 7.0.0-13E and kept on getting 'an error has occurred' when trying to connect to this app on my android mobile. I tried rebooting, changing SD cards, etc... but always this error

Then I decided to go to the real site, go.gateway-3ds.com, and it launched Gateway on the 1st time.

I've got another 3DS XL with firmware 9.2 and this app works fine there, but the standard 3DS keeps on failing still now that I've seen loading GW when going to the oficial site.

Do you know what could happening that causes this error?

When trying to go to the Android app, I just see the black screen with: Go Gateway, loading launcher.dat, then it does a 'click' sound, it goes back to the menu and the complete message is:
"An error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in use, then restart the system"

Please let me know what I could try as I don't want to rely on a WiFi connection for this to work...

Cheers

spanish_biker79: I had similar problem as you have and as astrot had a few posts above. I just cleared the browser history and cookies (as astrot wrote) and the app now loads launcher flawlessly, just as the original gateway site does.
