I was just about to do the update, It's already downloaded and just needed applying, for some reason I decided to do it through the eshop, it asked if i wanted to go to system settings so I said yes. I'm almost certain it threw me back into systemnand, I noticed something different with the 'internet' box and bars. I suggest nobody updates this way.

Yeah I don't think there will ever be a fix for the SSB home exit problem, because the game basically calls for a system reset, not like other titles which just close the running app and return to the previously running home menu.

just press the home button while in SSB, then select any other app and it will ask you to close SSB to open the new one and it won't reboot ... then you can go back to home and do whatever. It's just a workaround but it's better than going back to sysnand and make mistakes

Yea, I was thinking the same.. although I did the folder trick that someone mentioned on here before.

Honestly, the miiverse icon is a good enough indication of the firmware. Only 6.3 and below needed the folder trick.

to be fair, i only recently started caring about emunand above 4.3, so i never really thought about that.. but either way, i liked having a folder to tell me for certain what firm i was on, since god forbid some kind of chaos theory happens and my system boots up with the miiverse icon and im somehow in sysnand, lol.. idk.. folders were move definitive. but i digress.

probably because they built the 9.0-20 firmware around the faster New 3DS console which has more system memory & quad core cpu.
