So, i've installed Luma3DS + A9LH today, and downloaded the cia from freeshop, but everytime that i enter in the app i get the "An Error has Occurred screen" and the 3DS reboots. Do i have to do anything else besides just install the cia? It loads up to the "Loading Game List" screen and does that error.

Try to install it with fbi in both sysnand and emunand. It worked form me! :)

Would anyone know why games from free shop install fine, but some cia games don't? I'm getting an error saying something along the lines of an invalid twl firm. I've only tried installing through fbi

Searched the thread and didn't see anyone with my problem, so hopefully this is a new issue.

I'm on a nds 11.2j, and tried to download home menu themes and then deleting them through system menu so I can get all the themes from theme shop. But free shop errors out with the invalid titlekey error message on the download tab. Is it trying to download the theme packages for a different region? If so, how do I force it to download the Japan themes instead of some other region theme package?

Also, after it errors out, all my current themes got uninstalled when I exit out to home menu. I do own purchased themes as well as free ones on my account. And dev menu shows hmmj 0-4 as deleted too.

Anyway to get this to work on Japan region?

Ok I'm an idiot. I had the decrypted keys instead of encrypted ones linked. Gonna try again with the right ones this time

Now that you mention it, Japan region does have 4 different theme DLC titles and I don't think freeShop is suited to install all of them (it usually expects just one). That being said, it should at least install one of them.

It did load up 5 entries for download, but I did the canceling the install after content unpack and my theme download page still only shows what I've purchased legitimately. I guess if you gotta pirate you need to go all the way or not at all... Ninty's servers are probably checking on their end before checking my ds for tickets. Oh well at least I got freeshop working.

Out of curiosity, any future plans for console keyboard input for the search? It's a bit difficult to search non alphabetical titles, but I've been getting around that with list by alphabetical order.

not trying to complain but, does Freeshop download slow for anyone else? im wondering if it's Nintendo's Eshop or my internet.

Might be a stupid question, but I've been looking around for a while now and haven't been able to find much info on it.
How come I can't use the decrypted keys from that title key site to download with freeShop, when it's possible with CIAngel or FunKeyCIA? What's the difference between decrypted and encrypted title keys?
Thanks.

Uh, CIAngel doesn't support decrypted title keys, CIAngel handles downloading the title keys itself (In JSON format)

Man, that confuses me even more. If I punch in a decrypted titlekey when it prompts me for an encrypted titlekey ( in the "enter a title key/ID pair" option ), it goes ahead and downloads the game anyway. Same with FunKeyCIA. How come?

it downloads anyway, but it will fail at the end. the encrypted key is used when you want to make a "good" CIA, as well as when installing on the system.

There is no way to validate whether a key is correct or not until the installation process on the 3DS itself is started. A CIA file can be created with any key you feel like, but that doesn't mean it will correctly decrypt/install.

That said, I gather that it's possible to check that a decrypted key is valid (as that titlekey site does), so if the app is expecting an encrypted key, it could potentially test whether the entered key was a valid decrypted one and display an appropriate error.

the site doesn't check if the key is valid, but the ticket.
and if the ticket is valid, the key within it must be so too :)
(oops i thought this was about wii u stuff, sorry)
